Anyone here make weed videos?

I bought a GoPro to do some videos but I can't get it to link to my iMac, but it will link to my iPad.

Does anyone have experience linking a GoPro to an iMac? I've tried connecting with a usb cable and no luck. I've fiddled with wireless but my editing programs just show "No GoPro detected". I haven't tried WiFi yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
