Sweet stang. Did you buy it stock?I did alot of work on my 2001 stang.. Its a rag top,,have the weight down to 2900 lbs..with the cage..Chassis and suspension done by mailloux chassis.. Its still a 4.6 supercharged with a vortech, with aftercooler, runing 12 psi of boost. dyno'd at 511RWHP.. Dyno'd and tuned by sean hyland motorsports. Still has a 5sp in it but not for long, I have a built C4 with transbrake and 4500 stall convertor ready to go in. Right now with the wounded 5sp it runs low 11's @ 124.00MPH.. If I could powershift I could for surly get it into the high 10's running 124 MPH..but the syncro's are screwed so I have to granny shift..Ran 11:23 my last time out granny shifting..
droooooool I am jealous and looks like it is still in good shapeon the topic of old VW's, my dad has a 73 thing
this is important stuff!!! watch the vids that i have linked, and fight against getting a Vchip implanted in your body!!!!!!wait, what?
well lower is better then but also make sure to keep it street legal and able to get over speed bumps if you want to take it out and aboutI'm just debating on how tall to make the baja bug, I'm kinda wanting it to be more like the actual racing ones.
Yes,, I bought it stock and brand new.. Only has 42,000 kms on it and yet almost every part in it has been changed or removed for weight savings.Took me alot to get it in the 2800 lbs range..,..All suspension mounting points have also been changed for the drag suspension..I think thats funny.. I should have a Mustang parts garage sale..lol..Sweet stang. Did you buy it stock?
Go for a WRX. You can scoop up an '02-'03 for pretty cheap.I'm actually looking for a car/truck at the moment. I drive around in a 95 Taurus. I'm looking for a subaru impreza WRX or a short bed reg cab '95-'03 chevy/gmc 1500.
How sick would it be to get an STi? I just need the AWD or 4WD for my outings to Tahoe during the winter. I hate chains.Go for a WRX. You can scoop up an '02-'03 for pretty cheap.
They're beasts.
Anyways. I have a 97 Legacy GT.
street legal.. hahaha! I don't have to worry about that problem here, no car inspections.
Long as it isn't loud or such its legal.
Thanks. Honestly, any subaru is basically a beast. STi's are hellof sick, but you pay the extra money for the horsepower and insurance. They also come with summer tires so you would have to buy a new set of tires or wheels and tires. How much power do you want? You could go the swap route and get an early model Impreza and swap in a beefier transmission and an STi engine or go with a WRX and an accessport. They come out to be around the same price. Or just an older subaru and leave it like that. If you do end up getting one, try and get a manual. Automatics have a fucked up drivetrain bias making them 90f/10r in 3rd and 4th until they start to slip. But manuals have 50f/50r in all gears (unless you have an STi, then you can change the center differential in the cabin to be more or less rear biased). Hit me up if you need any help deciding. If you can't tell I'm kindof a subaru nerd...How sick would it be to get an STi? I just need the AWD or 4WD for my outings to Tahoe during the winter. I hate chains.
PS good to see you back.
Yea. I would go with just about any year WRX sedan (WRX wagons are fugly), or a 2005 Legacy GT sedan/wagon. I know it's a wagon, but with drop and some nice wheels they look hellof clean, and has about 30 more hp. The accessport just plugs into the OBDII port and reflashes the ECU, adding about 20-30hp by changing the fuel and timing map. It will fit any WRX or post-2005 Legacy GT.The swap would be too much for me right now. I have a limited knowledge of cars, just what I learned from my highschool auto class. But I do want the manual trans, probably go with the WRX, and what about the accessport? Do they fit certain model impezas, and if so, which one would you recommend?
I'd probably be looking for the sedan only because I could never see myself driving a wagon.
