The Cold Weather causes those veins on the sides to do that, looks like a pepper plant, But as your summer goes by they will start to look normal. I live in a very cold place and when it get too cold outside the MJ plants look just like that.Got a friend growing 7 or so plants of my bag seed I had saved. He planted her in November 2018 and topped her early this year I think.
Edit: forgot I can just upload images lol
I have tons of my strain Sonny OG. I actully got them from that very friend that we are discussing and named the strain after him.The Cold Weather causes those veins on the sides to do that, looks like a pepper plant, But as your summer goes by they will start to look normal. I am sure those will do fine.
Now on the other hand you should keep a few of those males and make some seed just be careful when doing so. don't visit females until you have clean cloths on and keep them far away. it's always nice to get good seed, I do it all the time so I never have to buy seeds again, and breed them into the best you can.
As for you friend not to cure his plants show him that it's a waste to grow for that purpose and not get the full advantage out of his MEDICINE, it make no sense, get him on here maybe we can help.

I'm in need of bud and need it fast! I plan on growing a couple auto flowers as well to get bud within 75 days.
As for getting my friend on here I can try but like I said he is an Old Timer and can be difficult with certain things.
He's pretty much hanging entire plants till the turn to dust.
When trying to smoke last month I asked to see his results for things and everything was dryed beyond belief, fan leaves all still attached and baggy after baggy was all the same.
Omg I just remembered I have the original bag I got my seeds from with plenty of dry herb in it! I'll post photos when I'm off work tonight.
That's crazy! I love it though... Do you plan to just let them all grow in the same pot like that or transplant things out? I also like coming up with names for all the bag seeds strains I've madeI was being literal. I have about 70ish seedlings in a 5 gallon fabric pot, 5 x 1 gallons and another 7 in cardboard pots..
Everything I've see online when 2 or more plants are together they fight each other for space or grow weird and over shadows the other. Root issues as well. That's crazy! I love it though... Well it looks like there are a few 7 lobed leaves hidden in amongst all those singular lobed leaves, which indicates that the plant is wanting to put on more vegative growth first before any other growth occurs (flower), and so I would guess the plant is wanting to grow for another month or more building it's structure before it tries to flower out, so I'd guess depending on whether it's indica or sativa (or one of the others) it could take 2-4 months to flower out entirely.I'm excited to start lollipoping! I'm all for taking off some fan leaves as that's what I do for my autos. Nothing extreme with them cause they finish so fast.
I'll take a peek during this week and stop by to remove some foliage. Hopefully I can take some clones from the other strains.
But yes you are correct, super chunky and compacted. With it being so small after November/December and winter I figured it was stunted. Think cause of the weather it just made the plant wonky and not sure what to do, flower or veg.
I wonder how long it will be trying to fill out till shes finished.
Sorry to see the disappointment in your latest harvest Zspy1985, it is easy to see why, it does look like the buds had collected some dust before they were stored, I would recommend you and you friend to both put some effort into managing a better cure, and putting up the buds in a clean dust proof container when they are finished drying ( just remember to burp and check them often if they are stored right after a harvest if all the moisture isnt clear etc). But it really shouldn't take longer than 1-2 weeks to dry out the buds (I'm not real sure what drying method your friend is utilizing?) and they should be placed in protective containers after this amount of time if the buds are being properly processed. As promised. Here is a picture of the end result my friend is so stubborn about. Says it works great and is super potent.
Every single baggie my friend pulled out looks like this.....View attachment 4336268
Yeah the mature plant from OP is at my friends house. He's growing it and I pop in for a check to see if everything is going ok.Oh I see you've got a mixture of both indicas and sativas in your garden, that's the way to go really, you'll get a broader spectrum of cannabinoid constituents to medicate with rather a flat or narrow profile from just one variety.
Two beautifully growing sativas you have there, hopefully they will leave you soaring come harvest date, may they thrive and prosper for you friend.
Ok my fault, sorry I do see why you would get upset if your friend didn't take your advice when you have proof that you know well, what you are doing.Personally I know how to cure. This post is specifically for the plant that's happening in an outdoor environment. I enjoy indoors. First grow was even on here and I'm on 4th journal on RiU but have been growing indoor autos.

Edit: autos are amazing and fast
I fully agree. I just was figuring he knew how to grow outdoors already... my terrible stereotyping of a older gentlemen that is amazing to hang with and share updated knowledge on cannabis. Come to find out he has only been doing outdoors for 2ish years. But has had them stolen somehow before? I'm not sure how he would only be growing for 2 years but have people steal it.Ok my fault, sorry I do see why you would get upset if your friend didn't take your advice when you have proof that you know well, what you are doing.
Only thing I can think of is to try and make yourself available to offer your friend advice around when you know a harvest has been taken, so that you can guide him to take the proper steps and confirm that he is following along and allowing teamwork between this shared grow to occur between friend, all for a greater product in the end, I'm sure why he wouldn't agree to that.
