Anyone know what this yellowing of my seedlings is due to?

Nope don't know. get a mag glass and check for bugs. info on what your doing could help. soil, nutes ect.

Btw they are 9-10 days old, in biobizz allmix soil with only water and small amount of biopac added to help the roots absorb the soil nutrients. The water added has a ph of 6.8-6.9. Noticed the root tips are barely just at the base of the pot could this be a cause or is it a time to start nutes, but from what i've read its probably too early for that isnt it? For reference these are all different strains the ones affected (2 largest) are Pineapple chunk and LSD. The runt of the litter (euforia) is unaffected so far.

damn, your roots are at the base already? did you use anything at the bottom inside the pots to promote drainage?

Well the pot has plenty of holes cut out at the bottom and the root tips are a healthy white, i didnt put anything else in there as these pots are only temporary, but will put stones in the next pot size. im thinking transplant stage if the roots are already showing anyway. lights are on 24/7 atm so gonna scale that down a bit soon when ive put em in bigger pots.

yea i dont know what the yellowing is, i usually have that issue until i find out how what ppm they like, but im hydro

could be a little fe diff"iron". You could try spraying rusty water on them. Also bring your ph down to 6.5. This young seems to soon for much of a diff. If you have that good of roots You might try starting your nutes at low dose mybe a 1/4.

Well i've repotted em into bigger 6" pots from the 10 cm ones they were in with fresh compost, ill wait a few days and reassess.

Your locking out Nitrogen.

Yellowing = deficiency.

Fix your ph and they'll be fine.

The PH of the runoff is typically higher than the PH of the water you add.

Test the ph of the run off, subtract the difference from the ph of your water. Adjust your water ph so runoff is optimal levels.

7.0 is ridiculously high for soil. You need to be at 5.5-6.0

My soil has a pH of 6.2 so i doubt the run off is gonna be as high as 7 - but i'll check.
Secondly dont take this the wrong way but 5.5 is too low from what i've read, do you grow in hydro? This is what im going off for soil-

How exactly can i check run off when im only giving them enough to wet the soil at this stage?

are they getting any Mag?

i dont think that its an issue of it getting not enough of something...i think its getting too much...what is the NPK of the soil...looks the same as plants grown in MG soil...getting too much nutes as a seedling isnt good...much worse than it not getting enough nutes....try it in a nute free soil as a seedling then transplant to another soil after 3-4 weeks

Its not miracle grow soil, its biobizz soil specially formulated for growing MJ, i grew the WW on my last grow in it with no problem so im a little confused as to why im having probs now, the only thing i can think of is either the pot size- they have quickly out grown it as the tips of roots were at the bottom or the temporary runoff container that they sat in which is metal and may have been getting a little warm, not that it felt it but meh worth a consideration, ill let em settle in their new pots for a few days and reassess if the new growth is coming out the same.

Thanks for the comments, think ill use the 'suck it and see' methodology for now rather than throw stuff at it at this early stage.


P.s the photo's are typically off one plant ( the worst) its mildly affected another (both Pineapple chunk) but the other 2 are green with the smallest (Euforia) showing no yellowing only a very slight 'crinkle to the edge of the leaves which may be because i got them to close to the light (3-4 ") i dunno its a mystery

There are just so many causes of yellowing - all the above are simply GUESSES. I won´t add yet another.

Are you using RO water? I had this happen until I added CalMag+ with RO water.

Ok so to stop bounding back and forth from first page ill show you a comparitive of all the plants now they have been repotted. The first individual pics are of the LSD the second is Euforia, the 3rd and forth are Pineapple chunk, im sure you will see The first 2 look reasonably normal One of the Pineapple chunks ( 4th pic) is showing the problem mostly with the other having a tinge of the same prob.

they look great so far...just keep an eye on them and read the plants...they will tell you when they need something...great start
