Anyone know what wrong with my plant??

I planted it 23 days ago...It stated out fine but then things started to go down hill...The leaves started to get yellow and crispy at the ends then they fell off all but the last 2...Now the bigger of the 2 is almost white and the tip is crispy and the really small 4th leaf is just white...But under the 1st set of leaves are 4 new really healthy looking leaves...My question is i know that the 1st sets of leaves are dead but the 2 leaves under the bigger leaf are smaller then the other 2...I know thats because there not getting as much light as the other 2...Should i cut the top off the plant so that the new leaves can get all the light they can or should i just leave it and let nature take its course?? Also can anyone tell me what happened to the 1st set of leaves...I am using a 42 watt and a 23 watt cfl on a lamp in a backwards L because of the setup i have...I was using 2 40 watt floros but i am just using them as a reflector now...I transplanted last friday to a bigger pot and noticed that the roots were growing out of the drainage hole...Any advise would be helpful.... The first pic is from 9 days ago and the last 2 were from 15 min ago...

what soil are you using? what are your watering tables like? to much? not enough?

i would get some diff soiless and start new seeds

Scotts potting soil...I know it's shitty soil but it's better than what it was in...I have a moisture meter and i also go by how light the pot is...I think i water it enough i also let it dry out some times i got 3 days without watering...Its now in a 1gallon pot so i kinda wait for the soil to dry out all the way down to the 2inces of perlite i put in....

i vote start over mang. its to far gone from the looks of it

That's not what eveyone is saying....Since that the new leafs are growing it should be good..

i dont think you need to start over, it looks like your either watering to much or to little, what type of light are you using on how many plants or square feet? if your using to much light that also could be an issue, stick ur finger about an inch down see if the soil is moist wet dry or whatever, if none of that works it must be nutes and then u dont even wanna bother if your new, then you should start over, but its def still savable, 1 green leaf = 1 live plant

Yeah i do the mostiure meter because the pot is kinda big but i also pick up the pot and stick my finger down about 2 inches....I am using a 42 and 23 watt cfl i'm going to go pick up a Y socket so i can but both the light right over that bitch....

by the time you fuck with that thing
you could have a better plant in less time
get smaller pot better soil
it will be much easier for you

or keep it and still do more seedings smaller pots

looks almost like your using compost. get some potting soil from walmart or something(dont get miracle grow) and replant it in that

I am using potting soil...I took as much of the bark and shit out that i could...I got a Y socket from HD and i got a new lamp it extends and goes around 360 degrees i will post picks of my new setup tonight....I am also gonna make 2 soda can reflectors..Or beer can reflectors...Anyone know if the coors light or keystone lining works i know they have some blue shit in there or something like that...

FIRST thing I thought when I see the pictures is " what the hell kind of soil is that ?" it looks like garden bark , but you say it is Scotts , so OH WELL.

ALSO, for 23 days of growth , that looks pretty sad , you might just have a sickly plant , it happens !!! I would start another grow , if you got the seeds.
