I’m not gonna get too personal just yet but I live in NY and I NEED to get the fuck out. Any green houses hiring? I run 14 green houses right now. Not cannabis obviously but I just can’t keep working with lazy people. I will literally move to another state and bust my ass every single day if someone has an opportunity for me.

Lol I’m pretty sure you’re not going to get the gig you want this way.

Do yourself a favor and visit your local dispensaries and give them 20-50 of your business cards and ask them to handout to their growers for a green hand. You should go through 1,000 cards

Then talk to every nursery and drop the cannabis question.

Then if you’re lucky you’ll have a gig or a contact for someone out of state worth moving.

If you want to put a career into this, format a resume and get some referrals

I’ve seen people as on here more than once and there is no local dispensary. They only have oil here for medical use and only a select few are even allowed to grow hemp. Business card for what? I tend 14 greenhouses there’s no business card in NY for that. Is that how people working in these places are doing it?

They know people. Most are connected through networking. Only way to get connected is following the recommendations above or if you know people.

As far as legal states go yes the state approved gross are testing every product and pre-weighing. and using approved fertilizers. And yes state approved

If you’re part of black grow ops, If you don’t want to market NY AND you JUST WANT to just move to Oregon or Colorado (Since CA is too much $$) just do it.

Lease some farm land or a warehouse and get rolling. Register an LLC and formulate a go to market plan and obtain $50,000-150k in capital and get rolling.

If you have the experience don’t work for someone. Do it yourself.

If you want to be an apprentice you need to humble back and talk to your boss

Edit: if you just want to grow normal crop. You need a resume. Do you want to grow cannabis or other herb and flowers ?

In NY I legally grow actual flowers, trees, bushes, herbs and vegetables for a company. I run 14 greenhouses with one other person. I’m ok with getting in on the ground floor since I can’t And won’t be like boom here’s my illegal Grows out here unless I’m 10000% sure the people are trustworthy. I don’t have that kind of money to lease a space like that nor would I try this early in my career.

The thing about cannabis propagation is you need buyers to justify wholesale yield. Or else you’re growing for personal use with overflow to clinics.

So it’s important to gather contacts before product. And your product will take 2 years to become a worthy stable product unless you’re trying to just mass exit inventory (weed)

You’d probably be well off talking to your reps who come in and try and sell products. Do you interact with reps? If you can talk to wholesale industry you are in now, people within grow weed and can link you up

Example you call someone and say hey I’m John Doe. No one knows who Doe is unless you’re a Kardasian, West, Kennedy, Hilton, etc..

So just say hey I’m John.

Until they know Doe it doesn’t matter who John is

This literally makes no sense how am I gonna call whole sale gardeners asking about weed in a legal state? Doesn’t matter the name that just makes no sense. Why couldn’t I just apply to a company that’s hiring?? Do you work for a company or are you just saying none sense because I really don’t get how that is gonna help. What your talking about would take years of trust before a stranger who grew pot would tell me they grew pot and linked me up with people in other states who legally grow pot? We don’t have reps. We buy jacks by the pallet from the company. Not a guy we meet and build a relationship with. I’d get the same results just looking a place up and calling them.

How do I go about doing that? I have great references as far as keeping greenhouse thriving. My boss would absolutely give me a great reference as far as that goes.

Look on job websites. Any legal state has tons of openings for PT or FT bud tenders. Like i said, you aren't going to make a killing. Some bud tenders only make $9-$10/hr. Might not be what you were hoping for, but that's were you start.

Well if that’s minimum wage in those states then it is what it is. NY is 11.80 outside of the city. I make much more than that lol but I always start at the bottom and my work ethic speaks for itself. I appreciate the good info guys. I feel like even taking a pay cut and moving still might make me happier than being here working with lazy bums.
