[Deep breath and go]
It would be easier to do one strain right, but I whittled 15+ strains down to 5 or 6; and I plan to reduce it to 4, before eventually swapping 2 out for 2 new, more awesome strains (but no additions for a year+).... all planned out. Another factor is running perpetual bloom with multiple strains. Turnover is quick. After several rounds, I've decided I want to run 9 Gorilla Cookies and 2-3 each, Grape Ape and Bruce Banner, in one tent; and ~ 6-8 Taskenti in another tent. One problem is that I've still got a few plants of strains I've discontinued. So, I need them out of there. All but 2 strains are down to the selected pheno.
- Now, I need to have enough mature clones on deck at all times to keep the perpetual bloom going. Each round has to be ready. As I'm making plant size/branch/tip #s uniform across a strain, I've got to ensure each is mature enough to yield 2+ zips (please). That takes a lot more coordination than you might think (assuming I'm not making it overly difficult). In the meantime, I'm using leftover Green Gelato and 5 Alive in bloom to give my desired strains time to mature in veg. I'm cloning the shit out of Gorilla Cookies, I've already got plenty of Taskenti clones going. The others, I'll use fewer of -- I'm growing Bruce Banner and Grape Ape topped, but much taller because of where I designated their space in a tent. Timing includes patience, it will be worth it. Stay tuned.
- Also, I've currently got 4 Gorilla Cookies almost midway through bloom; but it's an experiment. I'm trying to determine branch/tip #s. I think I'll end up using ~24 tips. So, if I have 6 branches, I'll let each branch have 4 tips; if 8 branches, 3 tips/branch; and 2+ tips per branch if I'm using 10. Stuff like that. I want bud size consistent, not big and small -- just about the same size.
- Every ounce offers a gas, hash, grape, and strawberry. That's straight to start with. I'm aiming for ~10g each gas and hash, per 28. Something like that. Consistent. And I'm only adding strains if they're better than Gorilla Cookies. So far, it's my best.
