little out of the normal posting on RIU. but do any of you guys/girls own ferrets? I own 2 of them. a 1.5yr old female named Tara and an 11mo old female named Bella. both are a handfull at times to say the least. they are excellent pets tho. they sleep from 16+hrs a day, are litter pan trained (in the cage, 75% of the time outside their cage), love to play and do all kinds of stupid ass shit, and are noisy when excited (dooking noises). oh, and LOVE to sniff my pineapple express bud, and play wiht my jar (sealed) of medicine when i leave it on the floor. bot do they try and get into the goodness. lol they are best friends, and always sleep snuggled up next to each other. they eat premium (expensive) blue wilderness 0 grain, high protien, hig fat cat food, drink bottled water, get vet check-ups often, rabies and canine distemper shots, and flea drops as we take them outside to play on the weekends (leash trained.......kinda), i feed them on occasion RAW foods (pinky mice, fuzzy mice, burger meat, chicken, filet mingon (steaks), rabbit, chicken organs, ect). i even make them a "soup" as a treat. its made form 1 cup of their dry kibble, 1 portion of kats milk (non-dairy pet safe "milk"), 2 jars of beef/gravy stage 2 baby food all blended up. ill toss in some meat if i have some before i cook dinner when i serve it to them. yes, they are spoiled. they have a HUGE critter nation 162 double cage (4 levels), and have more toys that i did when i was a kid.

heres a few pics of the little fookers. i have better pics, but their on my phone and still waiting on them to be sent to my puter.

I had two male ferrets growing up. Most fearless creatures I have ever seen. They would go after Rottweilers as well as jump
off a 12+ foot deck. They were a hand full to say the least.

exactly. we let them have the run of the living room and dining room. both rooms are adjoining and are ferret proofed (walled up so they cant get behind entertainment center, get to any electrical cords, under my couch, ect. when they are out in their play area, they are fakin spazzes!!. they have more energy than a teenager, and can will figure out a way to cause trouble. they are like crack heads when playing. rough housing with each other, playing in their 4"x25' clear dryer duct tied like a pretzel, tunnelling thru their 8 carboard tubes i got from work for them, hiding their 15+ toys under their fav chair, tackling each other, playing under my coffee/end tables, getting yelled at by me for doing stupid shit, and the occasional poop on my light colored carpet if im not careful (they have very short digestive tracks). believe me, they are a handfull. Bella like to play on the couch, then leaps off liek she is a jumping water dog trying to get the toy you just threw out in the pool. then does a belly flop, and wants to do it again. we take them for walks and to the park on weekends. people as why we are walking squirrels, or rats. lol we tell them they are ferrets. most never hear of them, others say they smell. then i tell them to smell these two. the smell is kinda a myth. 1 bath every year if that, as they self clean. too many baths and their bodies secreat more mushy oil. plus our have scent glands removed. but does not nessissary mean they smell if the glads are still present.

if anyone local does own ferts, motor city ferret rescue shelter is having a ferret fun day next saturday at a local (hazel park) elementary school. the husband and wife who run the shelter are awesome people as we go to their house/shelter on sundays for our 2 ferts to have some play time with the other ferts they own and have for adoption. nothing like seeing 20 ferts having fun and playing with each other. its a mad house to say the least. some are awesome ferts, some are little devils.

I would love to see 20 ferrets playing, just not the two I had
mixed with general population. These two were the devil
reincarnate. They were thieves as well. If left alone they
would steal anything they could drag into their layer. I
was always impressed with the size objects they could drag.
I miss those little fu%^&$s.

thanks, they are very well taken care of. i dont have kids, nor do i EVER want them. these are my/our kids. i just bought them some more treats, more feurotone (fish oil, excellent for their coats), chicken snacks, bacon snacks, and some canned food (salmon flavoured, 3.00 for a freakin can of food. lol). ill try and get some vid of them both getting crazy tonight after i try and cut their nails. try is the key word there. Tara will let me, Bella not so much. shes a crazy spaz bish. im still trying to get my grow up and running, but the initial vet bills, cost of adoption, cage, food, toys, bedding, ect took a nice chunk of change from my grow funds. :(

theres a guy on here whos in Mi that has a ferret avatar. wonder where he is at?
