Ever since I saw product demo video by a company called O2 Grow, I've been interested in alternate methods of aeration. The O2 Grow product is just ridiculously priced so I looked for alternatives and a found the Venturi method. I had a spare 250gph pump that came with a venturi kit, so I put it in the control bucket of my RDWC system, and tbh it works pretty good. It spits out a lot more smaller bubbles compared to the air stones and the pump really churns up the water making the bubbles stay below the surface for much longer. But there are other versions of venturi that use a higher pressure water pump (around 50 psi) to create micro bubbles that turn the water milky because the bubbles don't really rise to the surface. Is this overkill? I mean when it comes to hydroponics the more dissolved oxygen the better right? What are your thoughts?
