Anyone use growstones?

I've been using hydroton for a couple years and I wanna try something different. I've been thinking about using growstones, anyone got any thought bout them.

Grow stone works as good as hydroton and some say better it just sheds, so screen your pump and you will be fine. I love the shit, just don't like cleaning it.

may be an option for me aswell was just talking with desertdog in another thread about what a pain in the ass my sunleaves rocks are to clean there porous like lava rocks inside cant imagine glass rocks being that porous will have to look into them

Check out Homebrewer here on RIU, he does a 6" rockwool cubes flood & drain that is one easy to maintain system. That or DWC can be very easy & produces, with maximum results.

I started useing them in plave of perilite in soil. So far so good!

I would say they are more porous but they do shed more then LECA.

As a straight replacement for hydroton, No. Your plant's rootball will become trapped (almost rootbound) in the substrate, and stay dwarfed. As a bottom liner of your pot filled with hydroton, (or coco, or dirt) used to keep Sativa's run shorter, Yes.
