I personally own 2 mars pro 160's, and the bigger Cree model, also a mars 2 1200. I will trade them for 1000w hps. They are one of the least efficient lights out there. I use mine for back up only. I bought them because they are cheap. I also am running 2 clw 550's in a 5x5, they produce around 1 lb every 400 wats. I grew clones under both and clw blew mars out of water. The great thing about clw and timber you can actually speak to someone who speaks english, and both has great warranty. It took 6 weeks to get to drivers for mars 160, emails to china.I'm about to purchase from timber, the sales guy told me to check out the vero29, I have 10ft cieling, he said they have better spread than the cree, if you have the height. I can't run mars in summer to much heat, 15 degrees hotter than 1000w hps with a raptor reflector
yeah my mars pro was like a effing ceramic heater

I know, I found out their warranty is slow, they were nice in emails, took 6 weeks to get parts, and I had to install them, they said 2 months if I sent light back. That broke me, never buy again. Too much down time

0.63 isn't that bad, what were your results from? Sqft and plant size
Glad that cob kicked it up to 1.13, what type of system you running and in what size area?
That was towards that Yoda guy, I saw him on Cobbys thread talking mad crap about Qb saying they were no better than Mars panels.
0.63 is really bad considering that's worse than cheaper options like DE HPS, or CMH.

And it's also clearly below what modern (cheap) LED bulbs can do.
80 lm/w LED bulbs can already achieve 1 g/w with a good yield strain.
100 lm/w bulbs are extremely common these days, and Philips/Osram already have bulbs around 120 lm/w.
And I don't even have to pay 0.5€/watt for a 13watt 117lm/w Philips bulb.

Yoda is mostly right about Epistar/Epiled.
There are better options that are cheaper too, therefore it's irredeemably shit.
Those Mars panels are also unreliable, and warranty is slow/bad.

Somewhat less important, those fans in Mars panels are LOUD.
With their bigger panels being as loud as 60db.

They grow....
So does CFL....
But the comparison says that CFL is about 4x-5x less expensive for old tech.

I remember Supra doing his cost analysis of the original Mars being around $7+ / watt...Ouchies....and the new ones ain;t much better. Basically the same with more fancy doo dad crap that can fail, like new cars for the last 15 years or so :peace:
