Ok so I've been using this Proton app to keep my DLI in check I follow a Autoflower dli chart and use the Proton app...I calibrate the app by the par charts...so it being 1287ppfd at 12in is how I would calibrate all my lights...this is the chart....Screenshot_20230409_180340_Photos.jpgScreenshot_20230612_120612_Chrome.jpg

It spelt it wrong photone app...is what im talking about my bad.. but I use VPN also...
I figured it was something like that as I have that Photon app on my phone. I just got a new phone and ported over all the apps from the old one so it's on there now.

Did you get your app calibrated to the ambient light sensor on your phone? They didn't have the settings for my old one which is an LG Stylo 3 running Android 7.0 and I haven't checked to see if there is one for the new phone which is a Samsung Galaxy A14 5G with Android 13.0.

I only got the new phone because I bought a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone at Costco last week and the Fly app wouldn't install. Was standing there with all fingers and toes crossed when I downloaded the app at the store and it actually installed. Now waiting for some SD cards that will be fast enough to capture the 4K video this thing can shoot.

All I use to make sure my plants get enough light is one of those old 3-in-1 plant probes that have a light meter. Doesn't give me any actual PAR numbers or anything but from years of growing I know that for seedlings I want it around 500 and between 1000 and 1500 for more mature vegging plants. I grew for a lot of years without any meter before that and always got good crops tho.

I use HID lights, mostly EYE Hortilux in 400, 600 and 1000W sizes and running on older magnetic ballasts tho the 600s are digital.

Unless the app is properly calibrated to your phone the readings are meaningless.

I have the same Samsung galaxy 5g a14 with the app too and I have a lux meter. Did you have to calibrate? I know this phone I guess doesn't need a diffuser. According to my lux meter I can be getting what is supposed to be superior but the app says low on the lux side against my meter but when I set the app at ppfd it says I'm killing it and I don't know how I can do good with the ppfd but not lux. I know this post is several months old but hopefully you will see and reply any information to me that you may know.

Thanks in advance.
