Anyone use Soler & Palau Silent series? Specifically 150S

I'm thinking of a TD-150S for my reflector, how quiet are they?

I also wanna update my main exhaust TD-200 to maybe a TD-200S if anyone can advise on how quiet these are?

I'll let you know when I set it up, which will be in the next few weeks. I can already tell it won't be a jet engine, that's for sure.

i currently have a 150 and couldnt be happier. i havent used other fans but i am really happy that i chose the solar and palau. i am going to upgrade to the 200. havent used the S series but know that mine isnt that loud at all

You can't just plug those fans in can you?

It looked like from the pictures you have to do your own wiring.

If so, what do you wire them to? A switch, a box, a plug?

Doesn't sound very mobile if you need to break things down quickly.

I have the older basic Soler Palau TD-100 4" inline fan, and I'm impressed with how much quieter it is than my Vortex 4" and CanFan 5" inline fans. I'd love to hear their newer "silent" line. I did have to order a separate plug-in electrical cord.

My TD 200 needed to have a cord wired to it. No big deal really. The 150 I got came with a cord. Both bought on amazon from two different sellers.

The 200 is way louder than the 150.

Yeah I heard great things about S&P and they're used in the HVAC field, Can and Vortex if im not mistaken are companies who came up with fans for the sole purpose of selling it to hydro stores. You never see a S&P at a hydro store.

I think i'll drop the money, but wanna wait until someone has piped in with their experience.

I have had the S&P 150s going for about 9 months and can absolutely say that it was a great addition to my room. Very quiet and moves a lot of air! I tried using a fan speed controller with it and it made a buzzing noise louder than the fan itself! So and I removed the speed controller from the equation depending on the season and my house temperature I rewire the cord between the high/low fan speed setting. My next step is going to be to wire in a temp sensor controller to turn the fan on/off based on ambient temp. I also really like the design of being able to remove the entire center fan section during install and maintenance. I have regular hydro store inline 6" fan cooling my lights and when it is turned down quite a bit with my speed controller it is still louder than my S&P 150s running wide open. I want to upgrade the other fan eventually, but my room is insulated enough that sound isn't really a concern at the moment. If you have any questions feel free to hit me up!

Can you hear it outside the room? And what size is your room? I'm exhausting a 10x12x8ft room.

And do you think its so quiet because of good insulation or is your sound test standing in the room?

I can hear it outside of the room if it is dead silent in my house. with normal noise you would never pick it out. My room is 4Wx10Lx7.5H with 2x600w HPS and a 4ft 4 bulb T5 setup. All ballasts are digital and in the grow room. How many lights and wattage are you running in that space? I tested both the noise in the room and outside the room with the door closed. The majority of the noise comes from the air movement more than the fan itself. If you make sure your airflow isn't too restrictive, you should be good to go! I have a dehumidifier in the room I pull my intake air from and it does a great job to disguise all noise also. I have the fan suspended from the ceiling to eliminate all vibration noises. Hope this info helps in your decision making!

I'm setting up my first grow tent and was contemplating getting the TD 150S vs the Panasonic Whisperline fan, but I think you guys made that choice easier for me.

My tent will be in my room, so I need to be able to sleep at night

I am suuuper picky about noise... I have a TD-200 and it's way too loud for me, really. It's nothing compared to some of the fans I've tried but it's way too audible for me. I would be very interested to hear back from you in regards to what you think of the silent version if you do the switch from the 200.

I am switching. My carbon filter is going on 1.5 years so it's good timing to get a new main exhaust.

Im going to take the regular 150 and use it as a main exhaust and put a box around it and use bungee cords to mount it to ceiling to act as like a vibrator isolator and use the 150s as a recirculator for my veg tent. I'll report back on its quietness.

I'm only running a 4ft 6tube t5 HO and a 600w HPS.

I use a TD-150 and it is loud. I hooked a 3 speed controller up from home depot and found a setting that gives proper air exchange and the fan runs damn quiet now.
