I will for sure let you know. I might not have a true review until I fill it and compare it to my hang dried.
Temps are a lot lower than a food dehydrator. 75f with ambient rh.
 
Soooooo I am slightly impressed. Sample buds were smokable in 40 hrs I assume it takes longer when completely filled. I did two different samples.
First sample was nirvana's ak-48. Not much of a smell until you broke it but needs cured.
2nd sample was usefuls bananas and oranges. This sample stunk going in and stunk coming out!
I will be harvesting the ak today and look forward to seeing what happens when it's filled.
 
ive been using the myherbsnow drier for a few months now, it just works. i posted about it in nother section but im gonna say it again here, i was skeptical of it but a bro used it so i tried it, then i bought myself one.
it just works .
years ago you were a FOOL for considering ANYTHING other than hid lighting, cfl? idiot, led? wasting his time. now look, same with genetic, rars go? whats an autoflower? omygerd this guy is wasting his time on these little plants...
things change,people have acess to cannabis like never before so why should there NOT be new technology? i have done side by sides of same plant, hang slow dried, herbnow dried, occasionally someone can tell or asks, but even i have a hard time telling the difference (till i find the flat side lol)
hate it or love it, just consider, maybe, this machine works. not just slamming it cause its not the closet hang we all know and are used to.

people were used to hid now its led, used to photoperiod, now lookit the autos avalable,
slow dry, now use the machine.... times change
 
I've used this thing extensively for about 6 months now and I have found putting them in a small area like a closet with a humidifier will dry them out a little better, but this really only works in the winter. Seems like it dries a little too fast if you are drying in RH lower than 50. Which is par for the course.

I resd somewhere youre supposed to use a shotglass with water in it somewhere online. You tried that?

I am thinking in my grow tent, with a humidifier / humidistat to maintain 55% RH, in the dark? What do you think of a water cure first?

Did you try the humidifier?
 
I won't get to use the dryers again until late feb early march.

A friend borrowed them and used a humidifier in a closet and said it worked great.
He is now buying 2 for himself.

I would assume your tent would work just fine!
 
I use my herbs dryer during the humid months but in the winter an old school dry because its too dry for the thing. I do love how compact it is, and it works at my pace. I regret buying it, but it does really help in the summer when I cant get my buds to drying humidity. I know I could use a dehumidifier but I just let this thing run in my a/c room for an hour or two at the end and it brings it right down to jarring humidity
 
I'm a hobby grower like most of you and I got one last year because I wanted to speed up the drying process a little and get consistant results before going in the curing jars....It was October and I had back to back harvests of indoor and outdoor to deal with. One thing the Herbs Now dryer tought me, was how much nicer and cleaner a wet manicure is vs a dry one. I loaded it up as advertised and 4 days later the bud was dry and smelled and tasted about what it normaly tastes and smells like beore hitting the curing jar........So I filled up quite a few jars (8oz) and waited ...........BUT THE DANK WEED SMELL NEVER MATERIALIZED!!!....IT STOLE ALL THE TURPENES!!!! Worse, the taste was awful with an unpleasant salty/sour aftertaste!! ...........Just to save a couple days of drying!

The was un-sellable and worse, I didn't even want to smoke it. It became even more tasteless over time and the Herbs Now dryer taught me one more lesson.......I learned to press the last 2oz ingto rosin, because other than edibles, that's all your weed will be good for!

This weed was hung for 7 days 40% humidity 61f and is amazing.....STAY AWAY FROM HERBS NOW!!20200205_115631.jpg

sorry bro, i had the same thing happen when i tried a wet trim, it really works better if you just take off the fan leaves, the act of transpiration occurs from the leaf tips, if you cut em all off it cant properly move the moisture, that was a user malefunction that ruint that chop, not the machine, ive used mijne many MANY times, usually have to do it side by side with a hang dry as i have too much to fit in, only difference my people can tell i when i tell em. try another cycle with a minor trim before you dry it, then write another review here

Nope, the AK in the picture was manicured wet and after 1 week in the jar, it's super dank and stinky. I wouldn't have posted this unless I had a decent comparison to show, nor will I waste any more bud. Wet trim disturbes less trichs and leaves less leaf material on the bud after drying and you are able to remove individual leaves at the stem, leaving less "green" hay smell. The strain i used in the HN dryer may have played a part, but I'll never use it again or grow that strain either.

What is the actual benefit of using it anyway? Saving a day or 3 ?
 
Buds dry quicker when you wet trim so my guess is you left the buds in the dryer for too long

also could be that the strain just had weak/no terps

how did it smell when it was in flower?

i use it cause my wife got tired of our clothes smelling like herb lol, i do a perpetual harvest so it helps me to cut a corner, im pulling three plants every three weeks, im able to quick dry part then cycle the rest thru it at treduced times so im able to keep it all rolling without having one hanging long and in my way, i also have humidity issues where i live and i just got tired of losing plants to mold during the hang, (i am aware that 99.9 % of my molded plants were my own fault in some way or another)
its helped me quite a bit sucks it didnt work as well for you bro
 
It smelled fine., very fine, and the HN dryer has a timer......I really wanted the thing to work, and used it to dry the indoor AND outdoor harvests (same strain but different character) chopped in October...... but IMO the machine played a large part in removing almost all the desirable odors and taste in that particular strain both indoor and out. It retained all of it's punch, so it made good rosin, but it had a slightly salty sour aftertaste when smoked in bud form that I couldn't get used to. I'm glad this thing works for you, but I'll never use it again. What's the actual benefit of using it anyway? And at what risk?

I ended up getting a dehumidifier and have total control over the room humidity. I am now a believer in a cool dry......61f at 45% RH for 7-8 days hanging....VERY terpy. I'm blessed to have a small room to grow and dry and no wife lol
