Anyone using HTG Supply Rhizocore Bucket lids

Curious if anyone's using them, has used them, considered, or is considering using them.

I saw them on the site when I was looking for standard net pot bucket lids and purchased them to try...and b/c I can be a sucker for marketing. I got the 6" version. The idea seems cool and I figured, it's still a net pot so it should work regardless. The idea behind it is that an air channel is created in the middle of the root zone and that the roots are trained to grow horizontally, thereby keeping the channel open.

While I don't know how things will end, I can tell you that the horizontal root growth is real. My clones are definitely rooting outward a lot more than with other net pots. When I do my first reservoir change, I'll see if I can get a photo up the middle of the channel.

I use the hydrofarm equivalent 6in net, bucket lid in aero. Works great right after clones get big enough.

Your plants look stellar. I thought about doing an aero tote. If you wouldn't mind sharing some info - how deep are your totes and what kinds of sprayers are you using?

I don't think we're talking about the same lids though, the ones I am referring to have a core in the middle and I checked hydrofarm's site, they don't seem to have an equivalent unless I just couldn't find it.

My reply time got cut short because something came up with my drains, and i apologize because apparently I posted prematurely. We are talking about the same ones, but i went on by saying, I DIY the standard for my own needs. I think you got duped. I can't see anything that would do other than safe on hydroton. I have to block off the roots from growing down, in my case, so it doesn't mess up my sprinkler heads. That was the gist of it.

Yes I'm using them for the first time myself. The reason I went with this lid was to get the clone roots into the water faster. That did work and I'm pleased with the results so far. I went with the 10 inch and have seen some explosive growth so far. Hope this helps.

Jimbo01 - thanks for replying. I mostly want to document findings bc nobody is talking about them anywhere that I saw so if they're good, it's worth posting about. Maybe I'll side by side with my clones next time and compare.
