Anyone using the AC/DE HPS by Sunlight?

I picked this light up at the hydro store on a whim (ugh). I'm using the Ushio AHS-DE1000W/PRO-PLUS (double ended) bulb with a Galaxy 400/600/1000 ballast with "turbo". The light appears to be much more penetrating but gives off a lot of heat. I had to buy an AC unit for the summer but it may be a good investment. It was a LG 8000 BTU portable unit that fucking works perfect. It even had acceptable air movement utilizing it's exhaust and I retired my 6" inline fan that I used to create negative room pressure. Just wondering if this system or anything similar has been used and tested by any RIU members? I'm in week 3.5 of flower, Em-Bomb and some silly strain from 2006. Pics coming...

Been using it with my gorilla grow tent ... Pictures say it all ...Impressed across the board . Cotton candy , black widow , white nightmare , og KUSH (dinafem) , is what you see . By far better resin production and growth throw 6 weeks than a normal 1000. Don't take my word for it but comment back when , you see the truth .

Thanks for the reply and the pix!! Nice plants, good green leaves, and great size buds ALL the way down like mine. Light penetration is tits. I'm only using 630 watts right now as the 1000/1040W setting seems too much for my space and # of plants. I'll include pix when technical issues are resolved.

A lot of members on icmag seem to have good luck with them. The AC/DE is certainly an interesting unit. The HPS is nice, but I've been wondering how well a DE CMH would do? An 860W double end all start would be an interesting animal I think....

THCbreeder what is the exact DE equipment you are using? From what I can tell, the optimum electronic ballast is supposed to have a frequency of 100-150k. There is also some question as to which bulb is best: USHIO makes two, the Opti-Red and PRO-PLUS. The latter has the highest PAR rating of the two bulbs at 2100.
