Well, a greenhouse is allowed under certain stipulations. Here is the language from the Illinois Compiled Statues:
| "Enclosed, locked space" means a closet, room, greenhouse, |
| building or other enclosed area equipped with locks or other |
| security devices that permit access only by authorized |
| individuals under this Act. "Enclosed, locked space" may |
| include: |
| (1) a space within a residential building that (i) is |
| the primary residence of the individual cultivating 5 or |
| fewer cannabis plants that are more than 5 inches tall and |
| (ii) includes sleeping quarters and indoor plumbing. The |
| space must only be accessible by a key or code that is |
| different from any key or code that can be used to access |
| the residential building from the exterior; or |
| (2) a structure, such as a shed or greenhouse, that |
| lies on the same plot of land as a residential building |
| that (i) includes sleeping quarters and indoor plumbing and |
| (ii) is used as a primary residence by the person |
| cultivating 5 or fewer cannabis plants that are more than 5 |
| inches tall, such as a shed or greenhouse. The structure |
| must remain locked when it is unoccupied by people. |

It has to be locked in a secure area on your property of residence or in side of your home. And plants cant be visible to the general public. Like people walking down the street. People cant just walk through your yard to see it. That would be trespassing. We are also putting up a privacy fence to further secure our yard. I have the rules saved somewhere but not sure what I did with them.
Anyway its wrapped in screen and chicken wire at the base on the outside. Inside there's more chicken wire and electric fencing. The door was a screen door from our kitchen. It since has been reinforced with extra wood more chicken wire and a lock. Even without the fence it is hard to even tell what is in there from the edge of our yard. It just looks like plants of some sort.
There is also an alarm being installed soon. So if anyone tries to break in they will bleed, set off the alarm and have quite the shocking experience. Then the dogs will be on them as well. We have an over abundance of meth heads in our area and I am not willing to let them rob me and my family.
And on a side note. My neighbors know what I have and also keep an eye out for strangers. One neighbor even helped with the construction.

Thank you so much for that. Now I get the gist of what is required of me if I ever decide to grow outside.
I was thinking about adding a greenhouse off of my kitchen (glass walls) and thought it would be nice to grow cannabis in the space where it gets full sun and still semi indoor settings. Just thinking out loud, and don't want to break the law.

I followed this bill closely (bit of a policy wonk) and my wife and I went to several committee meetings and both General Assembly sessions where the bills were passed. It was total weed-nerd boner material.

Also, if you have enough horizontal space, train those girls to hug the ground and, theoretically, you can have unlimited plants! Anybody have ideas on this?

Pictures are worth a 1000 words. You could also look into motion sensors and Security camera. If security is a big issue, your neighbors Having security cameras would be significantly helpful too

Well if you build it the way I did, I would recommend farm plastic supply. They are here in Illinois and your stuff literally arrives the next day. Their prices are better than any of the other places I checked too.

I'll check it out. Thanks! I have a 12' shed with a south facing wall and was thinking of doing a lean-to greenhouse. Save on cost.

Sitting here in my happy place, (The hoop house known as, "Parts Unknown") listening to the thunderstorm and watching lightning bugs flashing through the plastic while Dave Matthews plays in the background. Also burning some Gorilla Glue x Mendocino Purps from the harvest before last. Soooooo happy! Just can't get all five of the girls in the picture too well.

I like the sound of that. To be honest, 5 plants aren't enough for 1 g RSO per day. So, I am selecting high yielding and early finishing strain to grow.I am also practicing perpetually growing. I wish IL is allowing more plants than five plants. When I am short and have to visit dispensaries, they have edibles, vapes, and tinctures but often they do not have any buds.

That looks fantastic. I am so happy for you and a little envious I might admit.
Looked like it was going to be a couple weeks behind the last ones (same variety for feminized seeds this time). Then suddenly the pistils turned, I checked the trichomes and they're all cloudy. 1 plant or 3 plants doesn't seem to matter as far as quantity goes but these buds are looking better than the overcrowded ones.

Heres what Im tinkering with. Instead of 5 strains or 5 different grows or whatever. I keep my count to 3 for perpetual.
plant 1 put in flower a month a head of plant 2(clone/or seed). Plant 3 veg until Plant 1 is done then repeat. So to ensure I have enough flower and trim for rso Ill plant in a bigger container. 32 gal brute garbage can with air pruining
