AP: Report: Director of National Intelligence reports to Congress about Russia boosting Trump in upcoming election. And promptly gets fired.

No one's ignoring anything, but I would say you're not seeing the big picture. Sure Russia posted a bunch of ads, but you can only herd sheep. We've sold our values out to the almighty dollar and imo makes it very easy to be successful with a campaign employed by Russia. If we had any sense of accountability trump never gets elected. We've allowed the dog eat dog of capitalism, to blind us from the reality which some of us fight about. Its now more important to save face than seek truth, this is validated by the media and embraced by our culture. Its a recipe for disaster. I agree that Russia played a big part, but we were/are low hanging fruit.
“Russia posted a bunch of ads”

No, it was a lot more than that. Gee, who would want to downplay that?

No wonder I called this guy out as a fraud years ago

It gets hard when you are so sure of yourself when it comes to data manipulation.

This has very very little to do with ads.

And as for 'herding sheep', think of it more like Ironman's little missiles selecting every single sheep and figuring out the exact trajectory to take each and everyone out in the most efficient and lethal way. Do you remember this story:

That was in 2012 when people just started realizing the power of data analysis. It is so much more advanced now, and the Russians militarizing it to figure out our citizens most important voting issues was genius.

But what is scary effective is their ability to target each and every single person based on how they would be most likely to fall for what they are pushing. And using tools like Facebook and A.I. to personalize each message for micro targeting to every single voter is utterly efficient.

Wake up man, this is seriously dangerous what is happening to us right now.

And in no way is about a few 'ads'

I don't disagree its a bad thing, but we have to have a bit of accountability too. I'm not trying to make it sound trivial, though our evolving societal values make us an easy target imo.

Look how far we have come in the last 50 years. It might not seem like it if you are white, but I can tell you if you are black, brown, or not-Heterosexual, or male, things have gotten far far better. We are no longer dumping industial waste directly into our water sources, no longer giving children lead toys to stick in their mouths. If people slow down and really think about it, life is so much better in so many ways today. But that shit doesn't sell. What sells is selling against everything, not for something. Selling for something is hard. Selling against something is easy.

The problem is that advertising hate has gotten so much better. Hate Radio and TV was the start, but online trolls is where the real work is done. You can't escape the hateful narratives anymore, and with the Russians using very real psychological profiling on everyone they can make it seem to everyone that what they are most worried about is happening on an epic scale.

You need to start thinking about this on a totally different level than what you are.

Goddamn it’s amazing how two faced you rats are
Be careful Buck, trump is appointing trolls to the intelligence services, no intelligence background required, no intelligence required either. If this keeps up Bugeye will be the next DNI!

Ya I'm talking about societal values outside of minority inclusion, which still has a way to go. Essentially, integrity and character are old hat nowadays. I just don't see 45 getting elected in 1960. We used to have a different set of ideals and standards and it's all been replaced by greed. Whatever you can do to get ahead, me me me, I I I. Anyway to claw to the top even if it's at the expense of your character and others wellbeing.

Everything is just far more exposed. From what I understand JFK snuck in women, wasn't a President in a duel at some point, Im sure some of the history buffs in here can come up with some doozy examples of Presidents/politicians behaving badly?

And economically, we used to stuff kids in pipes and mines for christsake, there were recessions every couple years that left people utterly devastated, genocide the Native Americans, wiping out entire cities because Black people developed and thrived in them.

It is insane how much we were told that was bullshit as kids. Our dads all lied to us when they said to respect your elders, kids should be seen and not heard, women's place is in the kitchen kind of stuff. All bullshit.

Today there are cameras everywhere and the internet, so nobody is able to hide their worst moments for very long. And we can get actual information at anytime almost instantly. Which really sucks when you just pull answers out of your ass and your 4 yr old kid can correct you and learns you are as full of shit before they even enter kindergarten.

And there are still people to look up to, even if they are getting Trump's manufactured hate all over them, people like Comey comes to mind. But everyone is human. We will adjust, it will just be a while before us that didn't grow up in the information age retire and let the ones who did take over. Until then we need to harden ourselves because we are being taken advantage of on an epic scale by people willing to cheat to get what they want.

Ya I'm talking values. I know there were bad people, but look at the committee impeachment vote on Nixon. Repubs still had some character. No way does Nixon's senate exonerate dump. I know there were bad people but the masses held them accountable and valued greater morals than today. There was a lot of unaccountability back then too, but civil rights won and Nixon was forced to step down, and Roe v Wade was decided, compared to now a days the good guys are losing the good fight imo and due to the restructuring of our societal/moral values.

Obvi Russia interfered, but they don't have the success they've had if Americans had more accountability. That's what I'm saying.

there was no impeachment vote on Nixon, much less a trial in the senate you dunce

He resigned

Sanders is an authoritarian figure
Blomberg will take yer soda pop away, not to mention yer gun, that's authoritarian to most Americans too. Bernie ain't Hitler Foggy, he's a bit pissed at times and I think the rush to power is unbalancing him a little bit, some of the bitterness is coming out unfortunately. Bernie will govern with congress and like I said, they will be a mixed bag, he ain't gonna tweet up the base to make death threats.

My only concern about Bernie is electibility in the swing states, though he might surprise some in a few of the red states, he's dangerous to trump despite what Trump says, he should be careful of what he wishes for perhaps.

Sander's policies would be moderated by congress, remember normal times and politics? The democratic party is split between moderates and the left and congress will be a mixed bag even with a democratic landslide. Half of the democrats would be as quick to impeach Bernie as the republicans would have done to Obama!

I'm not saying Sanders will win, but if he's got momentum after super tuesday and a good lead, he could pull it off. I like Bernie, but I would prefer anybody who can beat Trump and help carry the senate, I figure Bernie can do it, but it's up to the donkeys Foggy. If I had a dog in the fight I'd be barking a Helluva lot more than I am now!
Nah,

Sanders would set back liberal policy-making for years after he's gone. We don't need a left wing authoritarian who is ignorant of law making and governing as president especially following a right wing authoritarian who is ignorant of law making and governing as president. I don't know where you get that sort of notion.

We need a left leaning Democrat in that office who works well with others and has demonstrated the ability to get difficult legislation passed through Congress. Other attributes that show the candidate can perform the duties of commander in chief, oversee a huge government and implement foreign policies that benefit the US and the world would be in the favor of that person. That narrows the field a lot. Sanders is not one of them.

If the only choice were between Mussolini and Hitler, I'd pick Mussolini but I'm hoping I'm not forced to do that.

If he won do ya think Pelosi would stay around for the taming of the Bernie beast? Schumer would be like Mitch McConnell if he ran the senate, as far as Bernie's plans for Wall St were concerned!

Well Il Deuce did make the trains run on time, our former Prime minister Mackenzie King once called him a political genius. But then again his pre war assessment of Hitler was, " a simple minded peasant, no real harm to anybody"!
