aphids in week 6 flowering with high humidity

I've got a lot of aphids, so far not much damage but i did find some holes in a few leaves. Found a few winged aphids and lots of big ones and LOTS of small ones. all over all my plants

i take them outside during the day thats how i got them, i found two lady bugs in there and put a third in. but 3 of them wont do much i'd imagine.

it's been very rainy here all year and humidity is very high. so i don't realy want to be spraying as i found mold and bud rot in a few places (luckily on the lower crappier bud sites)

how can i get rid of these things? i was going to buy live ladybugs but amazon.ca doesnt have them and amazon america doesn't ship tthem to canada

I think onyx spider mite all natural killer is available in Canada. It works for basically all insects also good for humid environments because it fights against mold. Good luck!

Where do growers get the idea it's "ok" to treat flowering cannabis with anything?

Be a great day when all that nonsense stops. "Fixes" are gross and often unhealthy.

Not anything, specially formulated items established for Cannabis. Some things are used for preventatives, others are used to save your babies when they get sick with bugs or deficiencies. Also because Cannabis is a very valued plant, not only with time spent but also in actual $. So when someone sees a whole bunch of bugs on there expensive and time consumed plant they tend to want to do something about it, doing it with all natural products is also the best way to go. Another thing is that Cannabis likes to be washed from time to time. Soaps made with insecticides can't actually be very good for plants if done in the right ways, leaf shines with neem oil etc also will be very beneficial. Some things have both, which is why Onyx Spider Mite Spray was recommended. Of course if your plant has no problems why spray, right? wrong, you still want to use some kind of foilar as preventative and a leaf shine. Who wants a $10,000 + crop getting mites, aphids or mold when you can do a bi weekly spray to prevent these things.

I'm sorry, there aren't any products that 'work' without ruining quality. Soaps are the closest and they really taste gross. Be interested to see the health reports on them as well, they're made for veggies and fruits you can wash off, not smoking materials you can't. (Not completely anyway)

We obviously have different ideas about cannabis and quality and health.

I would agree, that using nothing if possible would be the best way to go, on another note when your talking about tens of thousands of dollars it's a different story, at least for the investor. For instance I used to manage a warehouse with about 180 Double Ended Gavita 1000 watts. One of the runs the babies that were brought in had spider mites, I urged the owners to reconsider introducing them into the room, they decided to spray with Azamax and just plant not wanting to spend even more money on more clones, and or wait for new ones to grow. After we get to week 3 of flower still fighting off the mites that were only getting worse.

Sitting in week 3 with horrible mite problems, the owners were using Azamax, bombs, Doctor doom, etc. There normal average was around 2 pounds a light, talking about 180 lights, 360k a harvest. When this much money is involved sometimes for some health goes out the window, and they just want the mites gone. I explained to them that they don't want to be using all of these very harmful chemicals, basically if you have to use something to save your ass than go with something all natural and organic right.

Any investor who pays for a setup that requires pesticides is ignorant and deserves what they get.
Yes, it's possible to create pest free cannabis in volume, no it isn't cheap.

Any room for balance? I have found diligence in the early stages prevents infestations if not occurrences. Don't let them get a toehold and any carryover is long gone by harvest.

But to address the OP, do what you gotta dude. Before I figured out how to manage long term, I had to do what it took to save my meds. Any chemistry at this point will affect the material.

Each branch could be hand washed in RO and hydrogen peroxide prior to trim. I did this once, it was a bitch but I had good smoke.

Good luck with what you try.

Well today I spent quite a bit of time going over each plant, i have three. I found little groups of them on some branches, under a lot of leaves, and even in between some of the lower buds. it was like this on all the plants. I only actually found one adult and dark green looking aphid. i found a few that had wings though. maybe 3 that had wings. but they werent dark green, they were still lighter in color. I killed all the ones I could find, went over each plant quite thoroughly. Found two places where there was webbing in a bud, i unravelled it to find a green worm inside, both times. found another spot where the cacoon was left behind, no worm to be found. I won't be putting them outside anymore at this point. The two big plants are way too heavy anyways, and those branches are swinging too heavy with bud! in another couple of weeks i would have a snapped branch, i'm sure of it.

I don't know what I want to do at this point. I read that people sometimes use vinager and water..but maybe with apple cidar vinager on cannabis. Also the tomato leaf spray, and garlic and water.
Not sure how effective any of those would be, or good for my buds they would be. those buds smell so sweet and good, i dont want garlic all in there, or vinager/tomato smell.

Does anyone think I could keep them under control just by going in there once a day for a while and killing aphids? I threw three ladybugs in there as well lol, not sure if they will do much.

the "aphids on soybean leaf" pic i found shows how dense each blade on a leaf was. but with less bigger ones than in the picture. it was mostly small ones all over with only a few big ones in there. there were a few areas where clusters of small ones were more dense, but never as dense as the second pic i uploaded. None were that dense, and most of the aphids were lined up against the spine of the leaf.

Dr. Earth's Final Stop Vegetable Garden Insect Killer. People and pet safe. It'll smell like beef jerky for a day, but the smell will disappear within a day or two, and it won't cure with it.

Aren't you supposed to be able to knock aphids down with cold water?

Some interesting info here. http://www.almanac.com/pest/aphids

OH and what are the little white white ones on the second picture?
Not if they're in the medium. If they're in the roots, too, you're going to need to kill them. If you use a teaspoon of neem in half a gallon of water, week 6 should be far enough out that it shouldn't taint your bud taste or scent.

i think the little white pieces in the second pic are shedded skins. though i don't have a lot of that onmy plants. I checked them this morning and there weren't a lot of aphids anywher,e found only a few ,though i didn.'t do a total inspection.

hmm flour or cold water, think i will try that. i want to get some lady bugs but of course when you actually want lady bugs you cant find them anywhere
