APOLLO-13 SUPERSOIL 1st TIME

Irishronn, your A13 is looking on point. You will really enjoy the smoke, I harvested about a month ago and the smoke is exactly as described. Im kinda missing the baby poo smell, but the pepper smell really stands out, almost like some fresh cut bell peppers coated with black pepper.
 
Ok the male is starting to bloom. Just a few pods opening, but enough to do the job. I know that some will think this is a sin but I see it as a progression in my growing experience. I am just going to put the plant between the girls and the fan and let nature take over.
The three JTR's have all germed and popping out of the light warrior. I don't know why I read so many posts where guys can't germ there seeds and always blaming the breeder or seed bank. In the nine years I been growing, i can only think of a half dozen seeds that didn't grow and I am sure 4 of them were my fault. germing seeds is the easiest thing. Any ways I hope I get at least 2 girls.
And.... what do you guys think of my canopy management?

Why don't you just seed a couple buds instead of the whole plant? I don't see why you would need thousands of seeds... lol

Thats the reaction I expected to get. But I am prepared for criticism. I doubt that I pollinated completely. Just a couple small pods opened and I only left it in there for 3 minutes. It will be fun for me to bust open a bud and get a seed or 3. Somewhere in there will be a great pheno.

I just cut off a couple limbs with seeds on my The Flav male when I decided he was ready and brushed them on one of the branches of my female Chernobyl plants and she is coming along just fine

I think you will get quite a few seeds from what you did and it is how we learn so good luck on the breeding

Thats a nice looking plant T. This whole grow is just a conglomeration of techniques I have learned here on Sucool's forum in the last year. Trying to dial in an easy way to grow. I have done some Hydro in the past but just too much work. I am looking to recapture that steady grow you get with Hydro when it all comes together. So far this supersoil is giving me that steady grow with no nute problems. And when I first started smoking you couldn't get a bag without seeds lol.

I like Growing with seed too. But never let a great pheno die away if you can help it. I had a great WW pheno I grew for 5 or 6 grows. was going to keep it forever and then I moved and it got broke and died, so sad.
 
Fed some molasses this morning. Should I give it another shot in two weeks or will this be sufficient?? The trichome production is in full swing. Buds are getting big but airy. 5 weeks to fill up so should be huge and heavy.

i would shoot it again at day 50 or so... should def help... those are lookin super dank brudda... great work....

OK I will give it one more shot I don't have any bud candy and I really want to stay away from the expensive additives. And thanks for the compliment. I know Sub says to stay with the formula as writen so I'm an instruction kind of guy. I always defer to the pros.

im the same way... bud cand is expensive... it does work tho... take care irish

Ron,

I use molasses every other watering up unit the last couple weeks of flowering so you should be just fine. I also use bud candy & I think it is worth the money & Sub uses it so it can't be all that bad

my thoughts aswell... i dont use that much mollases but I do use it twice or so... along with budcand 3-4 times... cant hurt that is for sure...

well maybe the next time I go to the valley (Willamette) I will pick some up. Its 50 miles to the nearest hydro store.
 
The Bud Candy has the needed Citric Acid to activate the sugars and help the plant break them down.
Without the citric acid its not nearly as effective.
I have used the following catalyst in conjunction with Sucanat and or molasses
I have used Earth Juice Catalyst but its to acidic to be honest.
I have used Sweetleaf and sweet as well but I think Bud Candy is the best of em all.
