Apparently It's Open Season In America...

About 10 years ago, my wife and I were walking through Delta college and passed by an MCOLES trainee class. I overheard them talking about how awesome it is that they get to seize people's possessions without ever charging them with a crime. They were all smiling from ear to ear and had the look on their faces like they just tp'd someones house. These days the police mainly train/hire mischievous people with low IQs that blindly follow orders. I know taking someone's shit and not charging them is different than shooting an unarmed person, but it's these cops with the same mindset as the kids I saw in the mcoles class that are doing the shooting. Change will only come from the top down. If they're training these idiots like this, it won't change shit.
What you witnessed was future police officers bring trained to violate your constitutional rights.

THAT'S what I'd be pissed about!

I recently cut off an undercover cop getting onto the freeway. He pulled me over and approached my car. He asked for my license and registration and then asked if I had any weapons in the vehicle. I handed him my license and registration and told him I was carrying a 45. He said, ok, is it loaded? I said, yep. He said, ok, I will be right back. 3 minutes later he came back and handed me my license and registration and said he wasn't going to give me a ticket because I was upfront and honest and cooperated. And probably because I'm white.

When millions upon millions of interactions happen every year, occasional accidents are to be expected. Cops are not perfect, you obviously agree to that.
I get what you're saying man. Thousands of white cop/black civilian encounters happen daily, millions every year. Everybody knows there are dirty, shit cops around so I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often than it does already. The difference today is just about everybody is packing a camera and a platform to broadcast it to the world. If anything, shit cops have to be more restrained today than any time in history. I just don't subscribe to this talk about it somehow being out of control or rampant today, cause if you look at the number of interactions against the number of shootings, it's a very small % in the grand scheme..

I'm not marginalizing the men's deaths in any way and don't give two shits about those cops, especially the one who shot that man in his car. That was murder plain and simple and could happen to anybody dealing with a chicken shit cop. Go ahead and be mad, it's a free country, but there are several issues infinitely more pressing to the black community than a random cop shooting.

Like the % of black men vs white men convicted of felonies. That's a LOT of votes negated right there. Infinitely more important issue imho.
Interesting. Now let's hear you speak on the injustices in the criminal justice system, like sentencing disparities. You talk about being convicted of felonies, yet you ignore the obvious racial bias with regards to sentencing.

I think that's what he was referring to. He was saying that there is a vast disparity between the amount of black people in prison compared to the number of white people. It is disproportionate, and I think Smidge was acknowledging that.

If a cop shot someone in his car and we all have it on video tape then he is going to be prosecuted and if he murdered that man he is going to jail for a long time.

It fucking sucks but some of our inner cities and even other places are a war zone.

I think all drugs should be legalized and people able to do whatever they want with their bodies. Government should get out of marriage, prostitution should be legal, etc...

Lets drop all the stupid laws that force cops to act against peaceful civilians.

Fix the problem, dont scream at a symptom.

Top down is the only fix. Taking it out on cops is just kicking the bottom rung.

No. Not really. But you wouldn't know because you're too busy telling black people what to think to spend any time actually LISTENING to them.

Only the states still outlaw felon voting, so that's pretty much in the past.
