Hmm apple juice huh?? ive never really heard of that i would guess it would be about the same thing as adding molassas it the water duirng flush. Now i do that and that add's a ton of weight at the end and alot of nice stickyness. The best part about growing bud is trial and error

Well why not any juice then, shouldn't just limit yourself to apple, IMO I dont think its gonna do much if anything, if your going for taste maybe try flavor extracts when you water your plant Break out some strawberry-banana or something. How about make a controlled experiment on it and make a journal on here.

The only thing I see as something really bad on using the juice is attracting bugs/ants they like that kinda stuff.

well, as soon as I get my new camera in the mail.. I plan on posting my grow on here.

It's just a single plant grow..

but its DNA Genetics 'Lemon Skunk' and she's doing excellent right now... just started to show her first few pistils about 4 days ago. But as of today, she's been flowering for exactly 5 days.

I don't really need any flavor adding methods.. no need to worry about smell and or taste with the strain.

It's called 'Lemon Skunk' for a reason. :)

I was just wondering if anyone had ever used apple juice to flush during the last two weeks or last week before harvest.

Apple juice, like all fruit juices, is very acidic. Perhaps if there were a way to neutralize the acidity it may be an idea as far as possibly adding flavor or sweetness. In my opinion, mother nature does a fine job of that all on her own. I'd be somewhat interested in the reults if anyone decides to try this, but won't bother myself.

like ledhead said juice is acidic. Adding it strait mos likely will do more damage than good. I doubt it would add any apple flavor, the majority of sugar would be fructose (not as beneificial as oher sugars) Store bought applejuice also would contain preservities that may have an adverse effect on the health of your plant. Im not sure what would happen, but do you want to take that chance?

yeah no. I totally agree with that...

I was just wondering (like the rest of you) if anyone had ever tried this before.

I too was thinking... that apple juice.. has a pretty high acidic level in it. So of course.. i was thinking.. well shit wouldn't that be BAD rather than good? lol....

anyhow, if anyone has tried this.. please!! feel free to share your experience here with us.

As again.. I won't be trying this on any of my current plants.. or any of my future grows as well.

Happy Holiday's people!
grazie. ciao.

I have personal Experience using juices/naturally flavored drinks to flush or feed with.
In the pix I am attaching is my 6 foot (topped) plant I used Watermelon Vitamin water that you can buy for $1 at grocery stores. I used it all through out its life and even flushed with it. The ingredients said it has fruit essence in it. EITHER WAY, at the end of harvest, NO LIE my bud smelled like watermelon. Even after curing it still smelled like watermelon. BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE WHILE GROWING! I stand by it and swear on it too. My next trials are during curing process using some kind of additives in the drying chamber to add specific smells as well. Or enhancing a natural flavor such as blueberry, strawberry or Lemon.

Sorry for the run-on there. Yes I have done it with Vitamin water watermelon flavor. Yes it worked and the bud smelled/tasted like watermelon. Im sure if you did this with apple juice to a moderation you could end up with a different taste/smell as well. As for the Growth part from the juice, I am not sure.

Here is the plant I used it on..

EDIT: Terribly sorry for the bad camera shots. The harvested shot was only one cola. In total the one cola before drying was 13" long and as big as a fist. This was my first grow ever. 150w hps 5gal container closet unknown strain

so it seems vitamin water would work, but it's still water....i'm left questioning whether a fruit juice or a blend of fruits/fruit extracts (filtered, no pulp - fruit juice, like pineapple or blueberry, maybe some fruit oil mixed in....) would work??? i've been researching for days now, and i've read all kinds of things saying the acidity would hurt the plant, and all kinds of things saying it won't, does anyone have any actual experience with fruit juice??

Well what about using different flavored extract? :joint:
This would be an interesting experiment.
There are lots of different flavoring extracts available on eBay and Amazon.

Some are alcohol-based (which is probably not a good thing for the plants), but it would seem that using one of the water-based extracts wouldn't hurt.

But it might be considered that pot has it's own flavor and might not mix well with other flavors - just like foods that taste great individually, may be awful when combined.
Some research is needed on different flavor combinations.

i just hate having to experiment without good research backing up the idea....there are all kinds of flavor oils, i figure an extract might not be as effective or have other harmful ingredients, but for example, i have some tangerine oil, that i thought would mix well with perhaps some fruit juice...but it seems maybe mixed in water with some molasses would be interesting......dunno, it's quite a ways away and there's more research to be done...as far as not mixing with the taste/smell of the plant itself, am just trying to upgrade the taste of a strain who's taste is not known to be so excellent....

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for some official entity to conduct scientific research in this area.

The point is that, as experienced growers, we should embrace creativity and experimentation as we master our craft (just like micro-brewers).
There is no downside to testing on a few individual plants & the person who makes the breakthrough in discovering an awesome flavor enhancement formula will have an enthusiastic market and become rich and famous and live happily ever after !!

If you plan on flushing only with the juice.. would the acidity matter as harvest is probably going to occur b4 damage from the ph would be seen? Just a thought. Also I say go4it nothing ventured nothing gained... after all.. I doubt you'll be smoking "labrador" from the effort.
