A solarsystem? is that the one with the ir tubes?
No it's a 550watt led light from California light works , I'm running 2 of them with a controller and a 1000watt hps (I have 1 solar storm on each side of the hps) growing only 4 plants this run... next run will be six plants in a 15•5•8 room using 6 solar storm 550s and taking out the 1000watt hps, for a total of 3300watts of led which is said to be equivalent to 3600watts of hps

So I've been running a chop and flip ibc aquaponics bed in my greenhouse for the last two years. The first few months everything in it looked nutrient deficient. It was probably about 6 months into it when I added a bunch more fish when the plants started to take off.
What can you do? Muck it up, over feed the fish, take any carbon out of your filter, etc. Your plants are your filter and if they are hungry you aren't at capacity. Go gradual, up a bit each feeding every day until you see the plants respond.
Or pee in your res.
Lol pee in Rez?

partly kidding. What have you done to establish beneficials? Fish healthy? Have worms in the media? My experience has been that aquaponics is like the hydro version of no till. You want super well fed healthy fish and all the good stuff that breaks down their waste. I used red wigglers, they thrive in the oxygen rich environment.

The fish food I Feed the fish is a quality food at 50% protein I'm using to Latvia which is great for aq and my brother had some extra goldfish so he just gave me him because he didn't have any room for them but they're pretty big. I'm looking for a way to introduce worms I will probably introduce them on my next run The fish seem pretty healthy they are definitely getting bigger although it is hard to see them because they like to stay towards the bottommy brother uses worms and he does pretty well with them

See what vegetative matter they will eat as well. My koi love cabbage. I'll throw a whole head in there and they nibble for a month or so Might not hurt just to throw some kelp in and let it decompose.

as for introducing the worms, just put them in the plants media, they'll get around from there. I wouldn't even rinse them. All the castings and muck they are in is great stuff.

For sure man, not enough people are playing with this. Great to share knowledge and experiences and results. I really love it. Mines just got the veggies in it but EVERYTHING gets the pond water as it's start. From there I go no till and either straight water or make aact's and ewct's with all the microbes in the pond already kickin in the water. Good stuff.
Best of luck to you, it's worth getting established because after that it really self regulates as long as you keep everything pumping and fed.

Update: no further problems, chopped those bitches down yesterday tricombs where cloudy(I like my smoke that way). Now onto the next harvest with these strains: Acapulco gold, Motown funk , twisted Caramell, train wreck, Dutch treat, and Blue dream haze. Here is a pic of the bubblegum I just harvested....it's a pick of a bud that accidentally fell off on purposeIMG_7344.JPG

That is one well trimmed bud! I hate it when people remove most of the pistils when trimming! Yours are BEAUTIFUL!
