A while after this a friend and I did a small experiment with a clone in a small rockwool cube in a net pot which I placed in a little slit I found in the aquarium cover by where the filter goes. This is a regular aquarium not made for aquaponics. Used a weak desk lamp for lighting since the regular light was underneath for the fish. Plant rooted with ease. Did nothing to the water for the plant. No PH nothing. Simple as can be.

Would love to see someone do this on a bigger scale and do it better. Good luck.

I like this project its a great idea but you would need to go way bigger to grow out plants of any size through to flowering but Aquaponics is a cool and totally self contained way to grow. Since it didn't work I suggest using the fish water for your plants when you change out the water. I give my organic plants the nasty fish water and it makes them pray in homage every time. Fish water is very high in nitrogen and will make vegging plants super happy as long as you don't add any dechlorinating chemicals to your fish tank.

It's been done a lot.
About 5:30 for first look at clones in Aqua-Aero. Cheers

This looks cool, but wont the roots take over. I always though this method you just had a separate fish tank and pumped the water around like a rdwc, but the RES was a fish tank lol

Subbed to watch this one either way
