They are Pea/Dwarf puffers. It's not recommended to have them in a community. They seem fine with our other fish so far, but they are still young, so only time will tell. We got them to feast upon the snails that hitchhiked in on some live plants. Plus they're neat. They seem to have quite the personality, constantly inspecting everything.

Puffers are sweet! i have one with a full size green terror cichlid. i actually have a mix of fish that any one who knows fish knows they should not be mixed, but with the right set up...

Yes it is. He was king of the cage until we brought some red-fin sharks in. One of them became a giant and took over the tank. LoL

If you look you can also spot three mollies (2 black and 1 white) and 5 tiger barbs.

We now have 3 sharks, the algae eater, 2 baby mollies, 2 green barbs, 1 tiger barb and the 2 puffers. I think that's all. :)

Oh, and a ton of snails. :cuss:

Nice I have 2 CAE in each of my tanks. In each setup one CAE is way bigger than the other though all 4 were purchased at the same time. Survival of the fittest I guess. They are said to be aggressive but mine seem to be more aloof than anything. They are getting big though. Guess I'll just have to get a bigger tank :mrgreen:

I can also say that the Clown Loaches I bought took care of my snail problem quite thoroughly and with some quickness :mrgreen: .

i have 2 also, and they chase the leftover gold fish, and the small cichlids on occasion!

Yeah, our CAE was rather aggressive until we got the sharks. Now he keeps to himself. lol One of our sharks got way bigger than our other two. At least a third bigger. He's a beast.

no problem, as much as i can say, online has great deals on equipment.... Support your local fish store!!!! its getting bad.... sooner than later the only stores we are going to be able to buy fish at are major chain stores like petsmart... small aquarium retailers are going under and that is most deffinatly where the best fish come from!

tropical haven in modesto is my local shop, i support fully! everything chain pet stores carry for at least half the price! I hear ya oakley!

I totally agree with supporting local stores if possible. I am mainly looking for information, and i like to be able to compare products online before committing to buy. getting an idea of what is a good asking price figuring in shipping, if my local can provide at least close to online ill deff go for the instant gratification buy.
All tho I think my main interest is in aquatic plants. i just really like growing things. lol .Im trying to locate a good deal on a 55g tank and ill see what can happen..

Hey folks. An odd question maybe but when you show strangers/visitors/relatives your fish tanks, do they ever get curious about what's inside the cabinet under the tank and have a peek?

I've been trying to find places to hide a small stealth grow with separate mother/cloning and flowering boxes but I'm having problems. Wherever I think to hide the boxes I run into problems with ventilation and/or noise. A PC Growbox would be ideal but a PC is just too small to be worth the effort. It occurs to be that the sounds of fish tank pumps etc. would be a perfect cover for the fan/bubble sounds of a flowering box in a cabinet under a large tank. Would this work or would a locked cabinet under the tank draw suspicion faster than some other more boring piece of furniture?
