Are buds normal this early in Flowering?

Hi,

i am new to this and i am growing in an indoor growtent 3 plants that i grew from some seeds i found in a stash i bought (so have no idea what strain they are). They are getting a long pretty well i think. The point is they are only 8 days into flowering (switched to 12/12) but seem to already have some kind of bud (though very small) and the pictures i found on the web only show this kind of bud several weeks (usually about 4/5 weeks) into flowering. So my question is this normal? might they be autoflowers (read something about these)? anybody any idea on which strain they are?

I'm definitely not experienced - but if you're looking like that 8 days after flip; they look better than mine did.
Mine took 10 days to even show hair at all.

They look great. Got lucky with the rando seeds being all girls :)

Interesting that the flower development was so rapid. I have a feeling that it was flowering much longer than the 5 days prior to you taking the photo and you might just have missed it starting. As to the explanation of why it was flowering before you switched it, that would lead me to believe auto flower, but if this was bag seed? Not really sure....

Most plants looks like that after about 2 weeks of flowering, but I've had some quick flowering varieties that will look like that after only 1 week of flowering - like yours do. I wouldn't worry too much - keep an eye out for an early harvest, your plants will tell ya when it's time.

Hi Nefrella, No not really lucky. I trashed all the ones (5 days ago) that didn´t look female , 9 out of the 12 i had planted. Which was a lot lower ratio of females than i had expected. Thought it would be much closer to 50/50. Also the strange thing was the other 9 didn´t show mail sac´s either, so maybe they would have still developed into females but since this my first grow ever didn´t one to risk pollination.

Hi GreenGuy, exactly why i asked the question here. I was planning for another 6/7 weeks before harvasting, now i am not so sure. maybe more like another 3/4 weeks. what do you think?

Without knowing the genetics, it's hard to say what to plan for as far as flowering time goes..

I'd guess a flowering time of maybe 7 weeks total - so perhaps just under 6 more weeks of flower..

Some strains will make the transition to flower quicker than others. Also if they vegged for a long time they're kinda ready to flower once mature and that can make the switch quicker too. I have clones that have been around for a long time that only take 4-5 days to start showing pistils

They were flowering before you changed as trichs dont form till a couple weeks in and you got leaves full of them. Possible autos.

You killed females in panic over pollen or you would of had a better ratio for sure, new growers panic everything just part of learning not to panic or listen to rubbish.
