Are cool tubes really worth the money?

I am using a 400 watt multi spectrum bulb with a regular aluminum reflector. My temperatures are at an even 90 degrees at the plant tops. I am thinking that i should invest in a cool tube for better temps but i dont know how much they will really affect the temperature. If anyone has had good or bad experiences with these cool tubes I would love to know.

I use an air cooled hood. One of the best investments I've made. I have a 1000 watt Hortilux and the hood keeps it nice and cool. I use a 440cfm inline fan to suck through it. Temps at the canopy are 80F and I get that big ole bulb 6 inches from tops of the plants. I also use a light rail to move the light up and down my flower room. This allows for light to be kept much closer to plants and results in huge yields with lower branches often getting so heavy they try and pull themselves over. Using this method I have finally hit the magic number of about 1 gram per watt every 60 days. These girls are all at day 35 and/or 28 flower and as you can see doing well. Yes air cooled lights are worth every penny spent. IMO Much Love.

They are very much worth it. I was running a 250w mh in small cab. temps were around 95. After the cool tube the temps. are the same as the ambient air 80. Look into building one. I put mine together for maybe 60$ with fan. If your having problems with temps I would say you should try one.

Yea i built my own, temps were 94, now they are around 83, still not were i want it but very doable, im thinking of trying a cooled hood design instead

smppro do you draw the air from inside or outside the grow area? Just curious. I thought about the hood also, I think it would be similar. Maybe your not pulling enough air through it?

thank a lot guys I was just starting to get a bit worried. Ive got some beutiful clones comin along and couldnt even imagine seeing them dead in the morning. I think im going to buy a cool tube today.

hoove let us know how it turns out. Make sure you use a good fan and ducting. It'll make a huge difference.
