are drip lines necessary

I have a 6 site wal mart style tube hydro setup , are drip lines necessary in this type of setup or is it possible to hand water until roots reach the water

Hand watering is fine just don't over water or forget about them! If your using rockwool you shouldn't have a problem with overwatering. If your your leaves droop that's a good sign of overwatering.
