... most here seem to be speaking in absolutes, when there are none.
for me, i grow in a 3.3 sq/ft cab.. so cob led's are the best light for my situation. dont think i could get better quality with a 150/250 hps or anything else suited to the space... and i prefer my buds to the dispensary buds around here or anything off the street.
now if i had a warehouse id probably be leaning all HPS.. if i ever have more space to play with in the future id love to get a 1000w hps and give it a run... i can say for sure though that my cob grown buds are great, and im sure HPS/COB/CMH grown buds from the right grower and under proper circumstances.. will all be comparable..... or i could be wrong

No you're not. 800 to 900 watts of LED will crush a 1000 with far less heat. That is a fact.
Explain how I'm getting the exact same numbers off of 900 watts of cobs that I was getting under a pair of 600s.

Different strokes for different folks, I'm just talking in "extremes". Every metric has an optimum, LED/COB is not at the "extreme" end, but it will be if certain limitations are present. Gotta stay within our boundaries, glad it's working out for you.
1k HPS (or DE) will open a whole different can of worms, but if space and resources permit...

She runs 2 1000w de hps fixtures. I have 1 630 de cmh. She only produced 7 oz more than i did. Now this obvisouly isnt the light grower tallent has much to do with this also. Just showing an example of results may vary lol
