hey.
i tried cloning with lousy results about 6-7weeks ago. out of nine 9"clones" i now only have 3. these look, well the color is very clear n they dont look tired and hangy, they simply dont grow at all.
how can i avoid this in the future?
now what i did was i was gonna top them so i took what i cut off with the 45degree angle dipped in clonex and then put it into jiffypots. did i take too little of the plant? should i have put it into water first? is there anyway i can get them go grow now? or should i get rid of them?
i only took picture of one, but they all look very similar...bo.jpg

definatly wouldnt get rid of it if it wasnt dying or deadcass 409.jpg..i have one that did the same thing and i still have it...i got it as clone in JULY and somehow it got stunned and just wouldnt grow and then started budding at 5 inches tall....i ended up bringing it inside and under 24hr lighting and finally the sucker started growing and is currentlly around 9 inches tall with at least 20 nodes coming off of it...this is the craziest clone ive ever see,,,,and it stinks like crazy and covered in crystals..

start them on 12/12 until they start budding,,,then jam her back on 24hr lighting until she grows..worked for me with sweet results.

hi again
xxxcmackk: thanks alot ill try that. i put two in the flowering tent, and one of them in the growing tent..
MEANGREEN: i dont remember but id guess something like 3-4weeks ago.. i saw some got some roots so i figured id try.
and yeah the watering i havent been handleing very well with these.. i basicially put them in the window n though iid just see if anything would happen, so theyve been getting always waterfrom about 5.8ph to 6.6... altho sometimes with the water id give to the little plants for growing, and possibly some blooming nutes.. voodoo juice probably a few times aswell..
i just really didnt have alot of hope but since theyre still lookin kindof healthy (except these burned edges) i just thought id see if there was anything i could do

hehe, yeah. Too much stuff. Keep it simple stoner.
All you need is to follow the cloning gel instructions, keep the medium moist but not soaking wet, and high humidity. A humidity dome with a heat mat helps if its cold where you are.
You should see roots in 2-3 weeks.

dude my first grow was in hydro and I fed my plants soil food for the first 7 weeks. it took 7 weeks to get them to be about 18.. they were just stunted there from weeks 1-3 and 5-7.. and during flowering they didnt grow a bit.. so they were really stunted.
but one of my plants looked EXACTLY like yours.. all the tips were brown, yellowing inside, then the new growth looked exactly like your picture. my plant stayed at that height for weeks 1-3 and had a little growth in week 4, followed again by 2 more weeks of total stunted. and neither of my plants grew any taller after i switched to 12/12... really really stunted babies.. and the water quality was tap water which was just horrible.
my main mistake.. soil nutes which turned out to have a SHITLOAD of nitrogen. so you probably overfed them nutes just like I did.

I went out and bought some real hydro food and got on top of my water quality by buying RO water and they ended up flowering for about 7 more weeks and scoring me 3oz dried.. 2 plants man!
just take really good care of them during flower is the best advice I got...

beansly: i did that!! lol i guess patient is what im lacking cus when most of them just looked dead and only two still looked fine but didnt grow i deicided to keep them just until they too looked dead, then found the third one in the bag with the ones i threw out n realized it started looking healthier so put it in the window, but the first 3 weeks they were in one of these little plastic houses i think is called humidity dome..altho i put them right under the 90w led and afterwards i read they didnt want much light so i thought id try putting them in the window.
took some new ones yesterday though im hoping for better luck with those, took bigger branches and i put it so its not right under the lamp but maybe half ameter under.. sparaying the roof with only water wich i adjusted the ph with.
i guess sometimes u gotta try n fail in order to learn :P i just have my second grow in floweing right now and thats all the growing ive done so far hehe
blazeddd: how can i tell the difrence from hydro food and soilfood? i use these advanced nutrients... bloom, micro, grow, but also sometimes voodoo juice, some iguana juice or somethin, and big bud. but not at the same time ofcourse, just to mention wich ones..
anyways, your post gave me a bit of hope :)

Thats pretty much it. I mean you can go to forums like these to try and get some quick help, and they help sometimes... but in the end no one knows your exact situation better than you. and sadly yes, failure is one of the best teachers.

I know what you mean about the patients thing. I was the same way a few weeks ago when I got my first indoor equipment in the mail. I would fuck with my plants and over handle them, stare at them, try and make them bigger with my mind... I had to find another hobby.

I actually noticed it when I went to another hydro shop. I was checkin up on nutes that I was planning to buy for the flowering stage, when I realized that there were two types of veg food of the FoxFarm brand. There is a green colored one and a light blue colored one. The light blue one clearly had FoxFarm Hydroponic Liquid Plant Food while the green one, which I blindly bought, had FoxFarm Soil and Fertilizer Company Liquid Plant Food.
If it doesn't say on the label, then read the bottle. It should say somewhere like for soil, for hydroponic, or even both. I'm using General Hydroponics Maxi series and it can be used for both hydro and soil.
If it doesn't say on the bottle, then I guess try checking on google or their company website. But I think that you just overfed them because I'm pretty sure that hydroponic food has less Nitrogen levels than soil. My problem was that I fed them too much nitrogen while in hydro, and actually an overdose of all their nutes, and they looked just like yours look right now, especially the stunted factor.
Good luck man, don't stress too much. I hope you get a great yield!

Also here are some pictures I found..

1.jpg2.JPG
It started out for a couple of weeks like that

3.JPG
Then it had a 1 week growth.. followed by like 2 weeks of nothing.

COMPAREDAY47-BUBBA+OGFIRE.JPG
Huge growth for 1 week, and then it was stunted height from there all they way till harvest.
100_2122.jpg
My second grow, I have two different buckets - proper nutes - 4th week total, 3 weeks veg and 1 week flowering already done. Here are some heights,
after week 1, 1 plant @ 9in other @ 4.5
after week 2, from 9in to 18 and other from 4.5 to 9
after week 3, LST the 18 one because it grew way too tall. other one from 9in to 13.5
after the first week of flowering, week 4 total, yesterday, the LST is locked at 21' and the other from 13.5 to 21'
COMPAREDAY47-BUBBA+OGFIRE.JPG
And the picture you see up there... its SEVEN weeks into veg!
Compared to my 3 weeks veg/1week flower:

SO the point is just focus on finishing this one out, learn all your mistakes, don't rush things, research, plan, plan, some more planning and then receive better results every new grow.
