sounds amazing! as my first grow i'm using very low budget materials for a few reasons. Mostly to make sure i'm really willing to commit all the way through seed to harvest. If i am, next grow will def have some more expensive habits!

1.2 grams per watt off last grow. Can only run it during the winter- she puts out a good bit of heat. Its a pretty intense setup. I got the hood used super cheap and i ended up getting three new ballasts for 150 bucks so for me it made great sense. If i was paying full price, i would have probably dropped a grand on a nice LED.

I would grow outside if I lived in Cali. But yeah LED will be better for you for sure.

I’m just in my apartment . When I have a house I will definitely be looking for a lot of land so I can try both methods but that will be a challenge . You have to live in remote areas out here to get land that will justify the price ... unless you have millions to burn.

I’m definitely going to binge watch his page, but trust me. Depending on what city you’re in a yard that size can easily mean the house is at least a million. I’m in Los Angeles that’s about 700k - 1mil depending on location .You dont need that much land. Check this guys yard out. He is in Cali and doing over 30 pounds a year.

Oh i know what prices are like out there. Im just saying you dont need acres. Its a part time job tending to a dozen plants outdoor, you dont need that much space. Figure at least a couple hours a day.

See I use to think cooler temperatures had a play in purple stems until this winter.
Put a 10 day old seedling reject outside In December. Not even Tinge of purpling and that’s from temps as low as 33f...
I said "can" be caused by. Genetics and other variables still have their parts as well. Not all strains behave the same way in all circumstances. I can induce purple in most of my strains by dropping temperatures to below 62F. 33F isn't too cold a temperature, 33F is literally a single degree from freezing. I have no idea what will happen to a cannabis plant at that temperature. Flash freeze?
In other words, a test isn't conclusive if the test only contains a single plant, especially a baby seedling.

I think it’s over used the term too cold for purpling as from my experience it comes from lack of P/Mag on stems.
The plant (NL auto) is now almost 5 months old and started to flower a week or so ago. Iron deficiency from cold nights (still low 40s here) but added some more and seems to of greened up the newest growth.
She was watered once in 2 months during the darkest days. Only got 7hrs of daylight. I’m amazed at how hardy they are. I

I have some King's Banner seeds that came from plants that were pollinated by another King's Banner herm and they grow super purple stems for some reason. I currently have 5 small plants growing that are going to go outside next month. The 3 King's Banner plants look like this while the two other plants (Purple Haze and AK-47) have normal green stems. I'm pretty sure it's just shit genetics in my case, because these King's Banner plants also seem to be much more hungry for Nitrogen as you can see by the leaves in this picture, but it will be interesting to see how they do outdoors over the summer.

It's not. I'm pretty sure the seeds are just shitty genetics, and they came from plants that were pollinated from a hermaphrodite of the same strain. I'm still trying to dial these ones in to see how they turn out.
