Are my fears irrational?

You lucky fuck - I'd love to know someone who spoke Chinese. You should seriously look into importing and doing online retail - if you got a little bit of upfront cash you can get so much stuff so cheap from China.

No shit - 10, 1000 watt dimmable ballasts - $1300 WITH SHIPPING. Granted, a lot of Chinese people speak (or can at least type) in English, but you could actually go to China to buy products... good for you man.

I would think it would be better (under hostile circumstances) for her to retain Chinese citizenship, thereby being able to vouch for you and making it easier for you to immigrate.

Edit: Downside is she wont share in any SS benefits.

Dual citizenship is vital for survival purposes..I'm pretty grateful they allow it up here. It's like being a double agent having that escape route.

Yeah, I'm making her keep it.

Also, Permanent residents still get SS benefits, as long as they pay into it, as she has.

Pretty much the only 2 disadvantages are; she can't vote and they can deport her for gross indiscretions.
