Are Nutrients Necessary?

Ohhhh started allready hahah ... oh dear :)

Ok well your on the right track... your here now so your thinking ahead to the nutes stage ... As Phyzix said (" Hi ya Phyzix ... bet you dont remember me :) " ) ... You would need to make sure that your soil is ok to use with Canna Nutes , They say that it can be used in most Soil and Hydro set ups ... But some premixed soil can be loaded with nutes... Some slow release ...and you adding more will just burn your plants .

Thats why Coco Is good ... its void of anything ... you control the nutrient content by a schedual ... and if things go wrong ( hardly ever if you stick to the program " Some people go over the top or under the required dosages coz they are greedy and want more growth or are afraid to hurt the plant " )...but if it does go wrong ... a quick flush with water and your back to nutral :)

The Canna A & B is exactley what i mean ... it gets a bit complicated here :)

You notice 2 bottles ? ... the reason for this is ... the plant needs chemicals contained in both bottles .... but the chemicals in the bottles cant be mixed directley together ( this baffeled me for DAYS LOL ) i thought ... if they cant be mixed ?.... how is it im mixing them in a bucket and giving them to my babys ?... it made NO sence ... but i thought " OK they have been doing this shit longer than i have they must know the drill ? lol

But yes ... A & B can be used thru the whole grow cycle in small dosages to begin with .... then as the plant grows it needs more and more ... then as it switches to being a mature plant and into the flower stage you back off with that and go for Flower and Bloom nutes to stimulate the plant and give it what it needs for that part of the cycle ... your like god :)

You might be wise to invest in a cheap PH meter to check your water ... Water PH is importent ( i bet you allready herd that here :) ) ... Its importent that YOU have control over it's PH .... some people don't care ... and i will just leave that little topic right there :)

Nutrients work only within a defined PH level ... if you PH is to High ...it may lock out one of the chemicals in the nutrient .... to low and it will lock out another ... i will find a chart that might explain PH ... the rest is up to you :)

Dont worry if it makes no sence .... took me an hour to figure it out :)

I Have been invited to a Canna Seminar later this month to learn about nutes and how Canna plan to make radical changes to how the range works ( dont tell em i told you that though :P ) so i'm looking forward to soaking up all this info and bringing it back here :)

So far so good with your grow ... your planning ahead ... thats good ... Read lots .... look at all the Sticky threads in ALL the forums ( Thats where proven techniques are posted ) and they contain questions that have been answered time and time again ... with the SME answer ... thats what your looking for ... consistent data :)

Good Luck ..and happy reading :)

Couldnt i just grow my plants the old fashioned way, Soil + Water ?
You could go into your garden and dig up a bucket of anonymous dirt, sure, plant your seeds in it and just give it water. You would even get a yield of some kind.

But most of us plant in a nutritious soil of known constituents and regularly give our plants liquid nutes. We get a lot more bud than the first example.

When growing MJ, like many human activities, what you get out is proportional to the time, effort and money that you put in.

Here are pics of my present grow, nute Free up to this point (28 days) i am useing FFOF tho. I dont plan on useing any nutes in the vegg stage, unless they ASK for it, and so far they havent.

But if you are growing in Fox Farms Ocean Forest you are providing them with nutes in the expensive soil you have bought.

Im not "rich" by any means BUT if $16.00 US> dollals is "expensive" Then your growing the wrong plants!! I "try" to give my plants the best i can afford, and i dont think that $16 US. dollars is expensive by anyones standerts. Your soil is ONE of the most important things for your plants .
