To answer your question: Yes.
You never want to grow more than one plant per pot/container unless it is massive and the root structures of each plant will not intermingle with the others. If you get a male or two how do you plan to separate them?
If plants are outside it is not exactly the same but yours would still be way to close together.
Did you use feminized seeds?

yes, one seed or clone to a pot. 2 in the same pot will just cause problems, i'd transplant them
