organic is good i found it pretty simple to do for outdoor especialy
any organic is gonna smell its how you control it
just be sure to add all the right ingredients to the soil before you plant in it and get your beneficial bacteria and fungi put to work breaking it down..
if you notice deficiency add more of what you need like blood meal for nitrogen, bone meal for phosphorous, bananas for potassium, seaweed for micro nutriants..
this is just example's of what i use that doesnt smell so bad after applications..
