The little fckrs stay on the leaves when not bothered! They come flying out nowhere! Killed 6 or 7 so far with tape.

Those look different than the fungus gnats I get from time to time. That looks like a much fatter body. The wings look a little different too. Strange.

Scrog knows his stuff though. So I would say they are fuckus gnats too.

Yeah, those don't look like fungus gnats to me either. Fungus gnats tend to have longer legs, almost mosquito-like...And differently shaped wings and bodies like the above poster noted.

Im on southern africa...hot and humid.
Gonna follow your advice. Will tobacco juice aid the cause?

Those aren't fungus gnats (at least not the ones we get out here in CA). Fungus gnats have slender bodies, like miniature Mosquitos.

My experience with fruit flies... you have to remove whatever it is that brough them there. I have had fruit flies from
... rotting fruit (imagine that)
... little bits of food stuck in drains (chlorine powder/salt? packets helped)
... multiple damp kitchen rags left in a bucket for a long time
... a mop head that NEVER gets dry
... certain wet dog/cat food that has been out for about 24 hours.

You just gotta find what it is that they are going for and get rid of it. It's usually something pretty simple.
If you have something that is both holding moisture and rotting, preservative free, that is probably your source.

I've never heard of fruit flies going at grow media though. ?.
Did you drop a slice of pizza behind the reservoir? Maybe a dog/cat got in your garbage and dragged something somewhere?

maybe some local pest we are not familiar with..kinda white fly looking. I'd kill em. sticky traps and neem oil or azamax.
