Are We Not Allowed To Go On Vacation?

Well this is more of me bitching than anything else. I have not left for more than a full day since I got my card because I had to take care of my plants. Finally I made plans for about 4 months to leave for 6 days. My roommate whos also a card holder told me the entire time he would watch my plants for me, I left him detailed instructions and reminded him. I came back last night to ALL of my plants being dead as door nails. One was 2 weeks from being finished and looked/smelled amazing. Now I get to start from seed again, random bagseed mind you. I called to bitch at him and he told me to go fuck myself, it wasnt his fault, supposedly hes been watering them everyday, even though my roommate confirms he wasnt here for the past like 3-4 days, and the door to the flowering rooms been left open at least 4 of the days, so even if they hadnt died from not being watered, they were fucked for flowering. He said its because its been 100 degrees in here, first off, open the fucking door and let it air out, I had windows open and I had been dealing with the excessive heat for the past few weeks, i had no real issues. I am going to go buy another fan today to get the heat in control, but for what? I should almost turn everything off anyway, I am pretty much starting from scratch... Anyway, are we just not allowed to go on vacation ever? ps I know heats a big issue, but your plants dont shrivel up and die instantly from 90-100 degree heat, but I know it can stunt them.

Yea if that were the case all of my plants in the Greenouse would have been dead a couple weeks ago. I do not believe that 4 days of overwater water will kill them, stunt them yes.

Sorry for your loss. I would flip your roomy a bill or take his sorry ass to small claims court. You have people expecting med now that are fucked do you not? It is not your fault they will be pissed and themselves without. Go small claims court and then move to Newaygo. We need more legit growers around here. Leave the dumb roomy behind.

I just came back off of 14 days of vacation and the person I had babysitting let 2 of my plants grow into the light. No need to top those ones. Fuckin prick.

Well i dont have any patients, its just a small 10-12 plant grow (depending on when you ask). The problem wasnt over watering though :\ he seems to have just forgotten. He claims to have watered them and shut the door, but pretty much told me to "fuck off" with his best friend (another roomie of mine) dropping his entire jaw as he explained that the other guy definitely forgot pretty much. The worst part is the roomie whos jaw dropped would have been fine to do it, but since the other roomies and actual patient, and made no mention of having a hard time with it, I did not ask the other roommate. I even called the one roommate once while gone and he told me he couldnt talk and never called back...

I feel your pain. I learned early on that nothing happens without phone calls and follow up. The longest I have been away from an active flowering grow is 3 days. I don't have patients to worry about but it is important that the medicine keeps coming. I have just had to get okay with the idea that nobody cares as much as I do and never assume that because you have left detailed instructions that they will be followed. Lesson learned. I had a helper that kept forgetting to close the accordion door all the way between flower and clone rooms. Light leaks galore, worst harvest ever. Lesson learned. I bet your roommate would be first in line for free samples.

im leaving a vacation in a week so im setting up a timer feed to keep them watered and if it works out well i might just leave it

you could always go hydro you can leave for 2 weeks and not really have anything to worry about

still have to raise the light, monitor ph levels and top off water. Even going hydro will not fix this problem.

im in dirt so the timed watering will be the best bet

Yea and God made adam and eve. This is about trust and dependance not about a light being moved or hydroponics.

Move out and tell em both to get bent. Next time you move in with someone make sure they are not like the ones before. Takes months to grow but can be killed in hours that marijuana.

why in Gods good name would you have someone else watch your plants?

I wanted to take a vacation. I thought I could trust him, I was wrong. Its hard never being able to leave for long.

Damn right is is I have vowed after the greenhouse grow to go on vacation while I just have some babies starting out. I don't know where I am headed I was thinking amsterdam but not sure. I know I do not want alot of noise so not sure. The only thing I am sure of is I am going somewhere and I am going to spend lot's of money and I am going have a great time.

3 more months!!

you cant trust people thats the plain and simple point like said before no one is gonna love your girls like you yourself

but there are ways to take a vacation and not have to worry about water or nutes

Stay home & tend yer garden & have a hooker in fer a vacation then go on a trip between cycles ,,,

I Think Case Anthony will soon be looking fer a place to live & a Job , I figure she should be able to tend yer garden but I wouldn't trust her watchin yer Kids , Food fer thought . Good Luck ,,,

True Enough on the trusting people Doobered , But . NASA has proven they can train Monkeys so I reckon a Trusted Stoner Bud can in fact be trained to tend yer garden during a much needed Vacation .

sounds like you need to get dialed in ...you should NOT have to air out your flower room by keeping the door open ...this is why michigan meds suck so bad. too many people growing in less than perfect conditions due to lack of knowledge and money

I dont claim to know everything, but trust me, I know my conditions are less than perfect. I just don't sell any of it and am a college student so I dont have money coming out of my ears for everything. I did finally get a good window fan to help air circulation. I had one originally, but it broke. Also, I left the room for about 6 hours the next day going like it had while I was gone and came back and it was maybe 90, on a really got day. I have since heard that he knows he just forgot multiple times and realizes its his fault, but is avoiding responsibility...

Nope. No vacations unless you can automate your system. Get a video feed to your phone and text alerts if something goes out of spec. Of course it's expensive so.. Nope :*(

the answer is yes. no vacations.
would you leave a potroast cooking in your oven and then leave for a few days expecting someone to come over and take care of it?

Yeah, you shouldn't blame him. You'll only be wasting your time. It's not like he can orf would do anything for you about it anyway or he would have said something already. It sucks, but life is full of new friends. You don't find good friend by staying attached to the ones who fuck you over.

That said, I feel kind of offended on behalf of the plant. What a fucking dick.
