first off our stomach is an indiscriminate vat of acids.. It doesn't know the difference between fruit and oatmeal or pop tarts and some cereal.. What it does know the difference between is fats and carbs..
Who here thinks high collesterol is bad?

What if collesterol isn't bad? Looks like inflammation is the leading cause of heart disease, and what causes inflammation? Sugar and carbs.. Sugar especially.
There's a new documentary out called "that sugar film" that has some great and relatable info in it if anyone wants to go and support the awesome Aussie that made it.
Insulin resistance is rampant in Michigan and we have a dialysis clinic of every corner. I know a few strip malls in flint that have 2 or 3 in the same mall..
I recently lost 100 pounds by going on a 4 year run of being a vegetarian and working out and the outward health effects seemed great. But inside I was a ticking time bomb. When I added up my sugar intake it was over 100 grams on a light day.. Add a red bull or 2 and you got close to 200 grams some days.. This includes fruits and vegetables...
Now I'm not saying fruits and vegetables are bad for you but we evolved in an environment where fruits and vegetables were few and far between. In the wild less then .01% of the plants you see are edible, and even when they are they need to be lucky enough to be in a rich soil spot that gets enough water go produce fruits and vegetables... Like blueberries for example.. Very very few wild blueberries exsist in Michigan and when they do they are just little patches with minuscule fruits..
Now what happens when you eat tons of fruits and veggies? You create a gut environment that's conducive to bacteria that aren't exactly good for you, like candida. Candida effects serotonin in the brain and can cause extreme mood instability. Did you guys know that 80% of the serotonin in your body is in your gut? And there's a giant nerve that runs from your brain directly to your gut fauna? And candida effects this nerve somehow and that's how it effects the levels of serotonin in your brain? Ya it's cray..
If your interested in a ketogenic diet check out Abel James' podcast. He's got a few episodes that are chock full of information.
Il come update more in a bit but I'd like some feed back from everyone in the meantime. Anyone else been checking out paleo or ketogenic diets?
