We got invited to my sister-in-law's. She said just bring the weed and the turkey. So I guess I'll be rolling joints and smoking a bird. At least I don't have to worry about all the other crap.
Sounds great! Post pics here: https://www.rollitup.org/t/new-and-improved-tnt-foodie-thread.1069452/ I'd love to see what you made.I don't like turkey , mashed potato or cranberries.
Local store put rib roasts on sale last month for $4.89 a lb got the largest one I could find 13 lbs .
Prime rib and baked potato on the menu , nothing else .
mmmm pics please when you've recovered! On the list:
Turkey
Stuffing
Green bean casserole
Corn pudding
Mashed potatoes
Smashed sweet potatoes
Gravy
Cranberry sauce
Deviled eggs
Spinach dip
Rolls
Pie
Just your basic boring thanksgiving fare. I like the traditional spread, though this is my first time making (and eating) corn pudding
Yeah my gf doesn’t like candied yams, so this is the alternative. It’ll be good, lots of butter and a touch of brown sugar, salt and pepperCandied yam casserole would be my only sub. You don't need 2 mashed dishes and the caramelized corners.....mmmmmm.
I have cousins who put minimarshmallows on top. I draw the line at that!Yeah my gf doesn’t like candied yams, so this is the alternative. It’ll be good, lots of butter and a touch of brown sugar, salt and pepper
I like candied yams, haha, but I’m the only one
Where did you get those beef ribs? I haven't seen any as meaty.About 1 hr, according to the Meater plus probe(been pretty close so far) until pure bliss. Then i gotta let chill for a minute.
I dont know about you guys but when i cook up a rib roast i love eating the ribs attached more than the roast. Carve them fuckers off and MMMMMMM MMMMMM MMMMMMM. Well i’m smoking just them things right now.View attachment 5343864

the rack on the left has been spritzed with apple juice every 1/2 hr as a test
Looks great. I can't tell if those are wild/dug mussels or farm raised? They kinda look wild to me.We steam them in white wine chopped scallions lots of garlic.View attachment 5341713

Yup. These are the best partThose are rib roasts aka prime rib .
For plain old ribs that big yummy meaty part is cut off and then sold as sirloin steak
