Now... why would anyone teach children:

1. This is the one true god
2. You are "created in his image" ("...arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.")

Why would anyone teach parents to teach their children, this?

Kinda the whole point of the book from which the above quote is taken: encourage people who have been taught such things, to question the validity of those teachings, and prepare for the "possibility" that perhaps you've been misinformed.

If, however, one goes around insulting people and commanding them to alter their views, the net result is reinforcement of what that one believes to be incorrect views.

In other words: if you go around being a jerk (or worse), no one will want to listen to you, even if you Are right.


Surely... anything considered a "God," would know apply this, and any Good God would apply it... so the story can't make sense, unless it is the intention to represent what is clearly malice, as if it were "good."

Why would anyone want to represent malice as good, to as many people as possible?

Deceive as many people as possible, so they will do bad, believing it's good?

Who would do that? And why?

Here's a potential reason: because you want a pliable and dynamic army, who doesn't even realize they do your bidding, because they have been taught this is "good." I could think of a few uses for such a useful tool. No wonder people are so vile. They've been deliberately raised with an inverted moral compass (or at least a skewed one, with an intentional shape...).

You would be right with the honey analogy if it were normal flies but as you indicated, their morals are skewed so the honey would have to revert to something else.

It would be nice if I could do as you suggest but I have not seen what you suggest work.

Any time you wish to collaborate on an experiment, I am there for that.

I have seen some of my more kind hearted friends get shat n quite as much as I do so do be ready to get dirty.
