Hey y'all,
5 weeks into my first grow and I've got a problem. I've got 7 plants 1 week into flowering in a budbox small version & a 400w dual frequency HPS. After 4 weeks my plants were almost 2 feet tall so I switched the timing down to 11 hrs on 13hrs off to stop them getting too close to the lamp.
Here's the issue. They are still growing !!!! I fed them two days ago and took a look back in there today and they are nearly filling the bud box (.75m x .75m x 1m). Definite heat stress as the tops are getting burned. There's good ventilation via a powerful extractor but it ain't helping the plant tops (mean temperature in the box is only about 75-80F).
I should have topped them I guess but I didn't expect this crazy growth spurt.
Now in a week I guess I'll be able to see which are males and that will free up space. I wonder, though, if it would be worth me trying to bend the stalks slightly or do ye think I've waited too long?
If anyone has any hints for a newbie it would be greatly appreciated.
