Asking for your opinion on this 215 barter.

Hey RIU family.

I recently acquired a 3x3x7 tent, 4" fan, carbon filter, 400w dimmable ballast + bulbs and socket/reflector and a few other accessories.
$80 is what I donated for the package, plus $20 in gas + a bridge toll.


I bartered the tent, fan, and filter (new), and also a authentic 70s disco ball, a few timers and orange extension cables, for 5oz of organic outdoor from the recent harvest.

I still have the ballast, socket/reflector and bulbs, fan motor control, and a few accessories from that $80 bundle.


A note about the disco ball, I acquired that for free, minus a travel expense.


Do you feel I made a good barter? Did I leave any necessary info out?

just googled a new tent of that size, brand new, in the box, $225, a brand new fan, ehh, $100, a disco ball, shit, i hope you'd get that for free.. misc, timers and chords, idk, $50 or so..
that'd bring the total up to about $375 for new'ish stuff.. 5 oz's of outdoor, around here, east coast prices, would surely be costing more then $400..

Well right on, I did ask for your wisdom and input. The tent and equipment reeked like cat litter, I still have a working ballast and new mh/hps bulbs, socket/reflector, and an extra cfl socket, ducting for a 4" fan, and the initial donation for the gear will be covered as some of this medicine for another patient.

I extracted what scent of the cat stuff I could through wiping it down with bronners soap and warm water, it just still stunk though, and yes I know I could have easily bundled it up and stored it till I have the appropriate space for it, my heart felt it was best to move it out of here. I am happy I did move it out of here, cause as nice as it would be to have that type of tent for my medicine to cultivate in, I also enjoy having the space available that is was taking up, for me to enjoy and live in.

oh wait, you got the 4 zips for that tent and other goodies? not vice versa? if so, shot, score on your part..

Cat litter has a pretty inoffensive odor. Maybe it was cat piss.

And why would somebody with 5 oz want a little, cat piss smelling tent?

So you really spent like 2k for the setup omg you got the wrong side of the deal. for 2k you could have had a sweet gorrila 5'x5'x8' complete with led and all or hps and all ect. but if y9ou needed it and will use it then you can make your money back fast. Im trying to say is use it make it pay for itself.

Nope. I invested all of $150 into the whole of it all.

To me, it was very present and unwelcomely obtrusive. A "Fresh Blue Ocean Breeze" esque scent.
No complaints, it just needed to be cleansed and aired out, and that I did do for sure.

Each of us has our own needs and wants as a patient cultivating our own organic (and eventually veganic for me) medicine, so that tent better suited the person it went to for now, than how I would have made it work for where I am at currently. Did I do well to be clear?

Thank you for the great wisdom and input, I am not sure where you got the information to put together that I invested that amount. From post #1 I did my best to be clear that what I invested is a total of an $80 donation to another patient for the gear package listed. $20 was to cover my own travel and bridge toll expenses.

Ok, well I was very open and honest when communicating with the patient I bartered with. I cleansed the tent for two weeks, and allowed it to air out in my own space before even choosing to decide to offer it up for barter, during that time I realized it took a whole corner of the room, and to me, that is too much for right now.

I was very open and clear in saying that the outer fabric of the tent had a lingering of some air freshener or that of ocean breeze esque cat litter, and it was the same aroma that was in the house it came from. The house it came from had a cat litter box, and that's exactly what that strong cat litter in the house smelled like.

The tent was clean and cleansed, to the point where I would use it for my personal medicine to cultivate now. I just wanted the space back, and another patient had a valid use for it, knowing where it came from, and how it smelled when I acquired it. The patient was quite appreciative that I had even considered cleansing, and we were both all smiles.

The 4" fan may be better as an inline for a bigger tent
the 4" filter may be old - make sure it's working before you use it for an important job.

Just messing around with the last post (as I assume you already guessed?).

Sometimes the smell of old grows can leave that ammonia stench.
That or cat's pissing on it.

That filter was brand new, un used, only thing I see myself doing differently would have been to of bartered the older carbon filter I have.
Otherwise, I feel pretty good.

Smoke Report, mediocre. Strains are, Skunk #1 and Da Purps. Have not sampled Purps yet, Skunk has a good under taste, I'll probably smoke a bunch and see what happens compared to the other meds I have.

I would have gave you 6 ozs for your catpiss setup!
