Atrain needs help with bho run......

Ok guys I'm here because I have seen some knowledge based threads here and I need help.... I posted in the autos threads a while back bit didn't stick around long. I been growing autos for a bit and got the hang of it now but any way who gives a shit right.

My wife and I have really been enjoying the smoke but a few buddies want me to try and make an extract they can dab. This being said I see wax, oil, goo, shatter, honeycomb.... I lost fellas.

I got a 3cfm pump and a 2 gallon chamber in route. I also have a 12 pack of power 5x refined butane and a tube. I have all the things I've seen folks use but I need help. The purge process is very cloudy to me. If I could choose I want to make a clear extract like shatter. I'm not looking for 0ppm lab test and all that so anyone who is here to talk down or troll please keep it to yourself. Anyone who can help please chime in. I don't have a hot plate but a heat pad or a warming eye on an oven with a few floor tiles to buffer will do the trick I have a temp gun otw as well.


Anyone that has experience that can take me under their wing it would be apprewciated.

By the way here's what were working with. 207 grams of Mephisto Sour Orange Diesel Kush x Alien OG

I'm mainly looking for slow and steady. I need help with vacuum pressure and temp. I understand each strain Is different from reading so how can I go about it. Pull a low vac no heat for 24 hrs? The slowly raise heat or vac psi. From my understanding the higher vac temp the lower the boiling temp for impurities? Just not Com pletely understanding it all together. I see things like 90 to 100 f for shatter. Well at what vac pressure ? How long?

Vac it to your pump's maximum vacuum and close the valve. Temperature and time are relative to each other, more heat less purge time is required its pretty straight forward. The consensus seems to be 115 F degrees and 29.5+ inhg. in other words if you can pull a vacuum past 10,000 microns then the recommended temp is 115 F and the purge time should be about 24 hours. Taking the extract out of the vacuum and flipping it every 3 or so hours will help speed up with the purge.

That is sound advice that's exactly what I need. I've been reading a lot tonight and have ran across <115 and 29 inHG several times.

The spec on the pump I ordered says it's capable of that kind of pull.


Also I have trim from several strains and 1 whole plant. Can they all be blasted into the same dish or would mixing strains foul up the process

Mixing strains wont foul up anything, but i like to run them separately in case one makes a lighter extract.
Also that plant you posted a picture of looked beautiful, no doubt its gonna make some great concentrate!

Thank you my friend, I appreciate your help. I may try a small controlled batch of trim from a mephisto Sour Crack Auto. Frostiest plant I e ever grown the trim should produce enough for a trial run

outside right? and its a straight forward process as stated. pack tube tight but not really tight, should be able to draw air through the tube like a cigar, place packed tube in a bag in the freezer along with the butane you are going to use for a day or two it will help the process. around 4 times the weight of the material in butane is roughly what you want to have pass through it, or until the liquid runs clear. Take your Pyrex blasting dish and float it in hot water to boil off the liquid butane, change water as needed. once bubbles stop forming popping take it in side to scrape thinly onto parchment and place in your chamber and follow the given information before my post from cold gravy

and I don't advocate open blasting. buy a closed loop passive system and a bulk tank of N-butane(Medical grade) safer and WAY more cost effective

Just finished it up today

It's a honey comb crumble consistantly but I'm 100 % satisfied.....


It is gonna be epic man. It contains

Sour crack / SODK x Alien OG / sour blues / Heisenberg special / himalaya orange diesel / himalaya blue diesel / dr.feelgood / purple amnesia

Should be a trip
