It doesn't mater so long as you do it the same each time you grow clones from the mother you keep, then you'll know when they'll harvest. From seed the breeder estimated flower times will not be accurate for every plant. The phenos differ and people's growing equipment, fertilizers and style differ.

The only way you will know how long your plant will take to harvest is to grow it's clones several times with the same method.

You need a pocket microscope from Radio Shack / The Source - cut a small piece of the bud and look at the trichomes through the scope - harvest when the trichomes heads' are 100% cloudy / 0% - 25% amber for AK47 the first time, experiment a bit with different plants, parts of plants. You can harvest the plant in 1/3rds, let the lower buds develop and ripen.

thanks hobbes, i thought that serious seed's genetics were uniform and stable, so i figured that there wouldnt be many phenotypes. i guess dont have a pocket microsope so guess i'll give her a week and a half then chop.... thanks again, now let me clean up my pm's

Even with a Serious strain like Bubblegum - which is very uniform from plant to plant - we can't tell when to harvest without checking trichomes. The Pocket Microscopes are around $15-$20, very inexpensive and one of the best gardening investments you can make. IMO a must have for good bud for intermediate growers.
