DO NOT REMOVE THE BOTTOM 3-5 BRANCHES FROM YOUR BABIES! This is HORRIBLE ADVICE!!! I don't know why new growers with questions on topping are being told to butcher thier plants, but please DON'T do this!! The person telling you to do this HAS NO CLUE WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT!! This is crazy advice!

actually guys when a person cuts 5 - 6 node up on a plant it will change the plants hormones causeing anywhere from 2 to 6 main top colas to grow now i have done this with a certain strain an got 6 tops but it didnt increase my yield as to a plant i left alone

i have topped a different strain that is in flower and i am impressed with whats coming out 4 top buds that are becoming huge

there are many advantages to doing this height issues trying to get more yield out of a plant etc

also like to mention supercropping a plant also i find is strain dependant meaning you can have many bud sites but buds dont seem to get to large end result being more smaller buds and shake compared to larger buds

IMO to each there own if you got a few plants growing try topping one or 2 of them and see outcome you might like it as well as supercropping i only super crop my mothers as to get more clones per plant

I'm not talking about TOPPING! I'm talking about that removing the bottom 3-5 branches! That's horrible advice! He's trying to turn himself into another UB or Riddle and in the process of trying to elevate his own ego, he's giving out BAD ADVICE!

Just to be clear! Topping is a GREAT IDEA! Removing the bottom 3-5 branches first, then topping is a HORRIBLE IDEA! This guy is telling people first remove the bottom 3-5 branches since they're weak and spindly anyway,(mine aren't, btw, if they are you're doing something wrong!) then top according to UB's technique. ONLY USE UB's topping technique! DISREGARD ANY ADVICE TELLING YOU TO REMOVE BRANCHES FROM THE BOTTOM, THEN TOP!!! My family has been growing for over 20 years and I asked them about this. IT WILL STUNT YOUR PLANT AND REDUCE YOUR YIELD!

It does sound a bit extreme... I would personally have to take advice from someone as well renowned and respected as UB. I mean, you can see peoples results over years using UB's method. Tried and tested... There is no need for a new and improved recipe...
Also, if you let it get to the 12th node beofre topping and sinking the stem, you would waste at least a week or two vegging...

Perhaps it might be suitable for outdoors. Perhaps, not. Anyone that doesn't know CLEARLY what they're doing can and will harm thier plants!

you are not allowed to start threads to bash fellow members.

disagreeing with others grow methods is fine, creating threads like this because of them isn't.
