Attention People Who DEBATE Over Religion.

Who cares we all die in the end, everyone just chill out and have their OWN beliefs.

Pushing yours onto others is fucking ignorant, learn to accept the other people might disagree with everything you stand for and believe in.

Who cares about who believes in god or who doesn't?
It is not something that should stand between people, religion and spirituality are some of the most personal things you have, don't ruin that by advertising your faith like it's lacking in members or something....

I guess the people who find their own faith and apply it to their life properly really get the most out of religion.

I'm 100% atheist but I accept people of all shapes and forms and BELIEFS.

If only it were that simple. Take one look around the world and all reasonable people will come to the same conclusion - religion is everywhere and dictates almost everything.

Believers don't keep their shit private. They MUST make the world believe like them. In some cases, they think if you don't think and believe just like they do, your corrupt lifestyle will influence their children or the rest of society, so they can't allow that, you must be converted or ostracized to the point of relocation, and that's only after we got enough thinking people together and they decided "hey, maybe we shouldn't be accusing people of things then executing them without proof...".

The only people not trying to force their religious beliefs onto other people are people without religious beliefs...

Dude that is absolutely not true. Ok many christian forms of religion (for example) will do what you say, try their very hardest to convert others in order to save the world or something...but that doesn't make it a legit thing to do at all!!

There any many religions that do the exact thing religion is for: a life tool. Something to tell right from wrong among many other things.

There are monks all over the world who will gladly teach their beliefs but don't push it on everyone as if they were trying to convert them.

I'm not even sure exactly what you are arguing though, you're saying that its cool for people to put each other into these different categories? or what? As in it's ok to believe that ONLY ones you share faith with are "good" where as all others are "bad"?
Like I said, religion is a personal thing, one person may think the bible told him to kill his children, where as another will say the bible tells him to provide for his children.

All I'm saying is that it is more than just possible for people to agree on things and have totally different religions.

Morals are morals weather they're influenced by any faith or no faith.

Someone of a certain religion that thinks another person is corrupting/hurting them or their children ONLY based on the fact that their faiths contradict each other in some way, in my eyes, are making decisions based on assumptions. There is no way for them to know weather everyone of this certain faith is a threat to them. People in their OWN faith could be a threat but they will overlook that information simply because they share the same religious belief?

It's very funny to me that some Christians (once again, purely for example) will laugh at native american creation myths but then be like "Oh hahaha how silly to think that! Don't they know everything was made in a week by a magical deity in the clouds?"

Just sounds silly to me

i keep wanting to comment but know that it would lead to more arguing, more bickering. at least you accept what is around you, but pad is so anti-anythingtodowiththebible that it would almost constitute a religion itself. i could be wrong on his view, but thats what it seems like to me.
but yea catholics give christianity a bad rap

lol yeah man i try to see all sides of things rather than letting my emotions take control of me, because im passionate about something, like many do.

In no way was i trying to start a whole other argument, I was simply trying to say that people CAN get along....use some logic and reasoning and shit isn't quite so complicated...

If any religious person approached me and told me "I have the answer to all, I have solid proof that there is a god somewhere some place" I would greet him with open ears. Like ok lets hear it then.

Most religious finatics will curse your name to hell if you try to tell them ANYTHING they consider blasphemous (like saying there is no proof a person named Jesus Christ ever existed at all)

Oh and Catholics and evangelical Christians gave christianity a bad name...idk tho in general many christians are giving their own faith a bad name.

I'm pretty sure many sects. of christianity teach that is it selfish or wrong to not "spread the word of God". The problem is that most of the people motivated enough to do this go about it in a very annoying or pushing way. I hate that shit.

Pin is right, all this religious conflict should stop...the only thing that matters is that you believe in what you believe in, no one else's opinion matters...

if the religous institutions would stop the suppression of anything that contradicts their story, like artifacts, and texts. and if people would stop being victims. we could see a bright future for humans. but people are soo tied to their faith, they almost fear anything else.

There is no greater control over a nation than the fear of death. KyleCole420. Yes it is true that in the end none of us are going to make it out of this alive. I accept that, but christianity is the number user of the fear of death. Buddhism was around long before christ was claimed to be. Christians claim there faith is number one right. Then how is it christianity has led to so many deaths in the name of the lord. There is no faith but that of the man who believes it. If I live my life right i believe that in the end that is all that counts. Be there a god or not we are all gods in our own minds.

...I would say it doesn't matter, and that we should be able to believe in whatever we choose....then, I'm thinking, why do we have to put our hand on a bible in court? ...why is "God" all over my legal tender? In the name of god...I swear to god...only god knows...god bless you...God, god, god....that's all I hear. God damn! ...it's almost like we are being programed to think "someone" is responsible for humankind...just my thoughts.

...athiest, tend to take it personal that a "God" is the one said to be responsible for life. Science cannot explain everything, but has long proved the bible wrong either way and has made the whole "God" story sound a bit like mother goose. Noone can be absolutely certain what is responsible for life, but....they can tell you how it evolved. Here's a cool little video that may make a few people smile.bongsmilie

totally, they want people to think and behave like vitims. its true powers have used religion to control. religious simply vote for someone because of their religion, even if they lie about it or not, like bush just to name a few. people need to start taking self responsibility for everything they do, think and feel.

Not at all, I believe some good morals come out of the Bible, I just also believe some bad morals come out of it too. That's a major difference between a believer and an atheist - believers read the Bible as the word of the creator of the universe and the purpose for life and existence, how could one possibly question it? An atheist reads it with a skeptical frame of mind, as stories to be researched for their accuracy and backgrounds. This is not how you're supposed to read it... You must believe in magic if you believe Christianity is the answer to the question of our existence. I have never witnessed a supernatural event, ever, and I'm unwilling to accept the tenets of any organized religion based on faith. As I've learned in life, you must trust something to have faith in it, and I'm sure at this point I don't have to explain to anyone why asking me to trust any organized religion is an impossibility. Trust is completely out of the question. When someone claims to have answers, that's what I expect, and all you get from organized religions are more and more questions.

And that's only half of it...

The other half is far worse and makes me angry on a daily basis because I see the consequences of it working in action in people I know, people I love and care about. I see how it influences systems in our world and destroys human potential. It turns essentially family members against each other because of literally the most irrelevant things imaginable in the grand scheme of things.

Look what knowledge does to a persons mind. Look what discovery does. Look what SCIENCE does, history does, math does, every goddamn thing we've ever discovered that has enabled our species to take another small step up the ladder of progress, look what it does.

It creates atheists.

As would I! As I always do! I had a discussion with a guy one time, without ANY arguing or excessive cursing or name calling that was 27 pages long in MicrosoftWord, 9 different emails just like that, back and fourth, over the course of about 7 or 8 months.

The problem is not the person, it's the belief. These people believe this stuff is just simply unquestionable, they reason everything else AROUND what the Bible (or insert whatever other holy book here) says, they don't reason reality first. If reality doesn't fit with the Bible, reality's wrong, not the Bible! wtf?

not all believers take the bible as the explicit word of god. me for one, and deists and other people im sure. i question the bible because i was endowed with reason. so you see there's really no difference between me a believer and you an atheist.
and c'mon, you cant tell me science never leads us down the wrong path. atomic bombs for one, can achieve what no religion can, and thats destruction of everything. automobiles, great means of transportation, but at what costs to the ozone. the gulf coast..various other things.
if we all got off the thought of "whats cheapest today" and went to a "what can lead to a better tomorrow or healthier, etc" we'd all be better. atheist and believers alike.

so how do you hold on to your beliefs when you know the beliefs came from an unreliable source. i think science is always a good thing. its who uses that science and how they use it. the problem again lack of responsibilty.

my beliefs didn't come from an unreliable source, they come from me. i use my reason and judgment to come to my own conclusions and not a bible or preacher. the bible is really only one thing, a good read. entertaining even.
if i had grew up in iran, i would be submitting to allah, if in india karma or some cow. religions are territorial while the concepts are eternal. and that concept is....there is something great about this universe that has allowed us this short breath of life, whether or not we are in it alone or with other undiscovered beings.
and what you say about science can also be said about religion. but as we all know when some get control, they get consumed by it.

Christians claim there faith is number one right.

THIS, I can't stand! How can most religions claim that theirs is the ONE AND ONLY? Like I'm supposed to pick one or something? Not a single faith is the "number one" there are thousands of different beliefs out there, some VERY far out there, some not so much. I leave it up to logic

I also absolutely think that these retarded arguments should be more "discussion" oriented. Take what anyone says for what it's worth without getting all upset lol

its the only reason their religion still exists. only the good true slaves make it right? hah i think to belong to a religion is to bound your self to slavery in a sense. i agree with blazin to an extent that the core teachings are good, but i think they may have gone astray. the gnostics mention that the eternal spirit inside us is that connection we have with "god", or i like the "creation". actually basically every major religion and ancient cultures say the same thing, that there is an essence of god inside all conscious life. i think the prophecies and the teachings from the begining till now all seem to be just different interpretations of 1 thing, that humanity had at one time experienced. and now science, quantum physics, and all the teachings of biblical and religious teachings and prophecies, are helping to make clearer the nature of reality, and how we are "creators" with free will and what may happen, with the "end times" or "shift into this something new. conscious evolution and expaning in awareness. the universe is my new "religion". logic, truth, reason, love the frequency that creates
