Hey,

Beaner I've heard you are the guy to talk to about trash bags or grow bags.
Anyone else who can answer this please do so.

I have read a lot of posts from folks who use trash bags or grow bags outdoors in ground, but never explain the benefit of doing so. What is the benefit of using a bag rather than just digging a hole and filling it with 3 or 4 gallons of good soil with no bag?

i'm a newb...But i'm thinking of pure common sense... mobility...for the plant itself to grow hard (plastice bags are easy to push through) and for you to move the plant itself if need be.

shits dark, doens't look suspect

Not really mobility advantage. i dont know if youve ever tried to move a full grow bag but when you do it doesnt just stay in place, it would mess up roots and when a plant is full grown in a bag the roots have usually gone into the ground throught the water holes. i would imagine water retention is good tho
