001.jpg002.jpg003.jpg004.jpg005.jpg006.jpg So I hit the 7 week mark today. Sensi seeds #1 from seed. How do they look now? Can't stop looking at waiting for them to ready themselves!!! Thanks for any replies. Just looking for some feed back on what looks good AND bad.

Your plants look great, when to whack your plants it's all up to you, but the longer you wait the better the buzz will be. Your close right now, I'll give you that but in the finial home run stretch (8 to 12 weeks) that is when all the magic starts to happen. For one, this is when she puts on all the extra weight, the buds get rock hard, and three, the potency changes. Now if you have ants in your pants and you need a smoke ASAP then by all means cut off a bud or two, and give it a smoke, let that be your deciding factor, an actually taste test, sure go for it and every few days to a week cut off a bud and do another hit. When your smoking what you want, cut her down.

Oh, and to answer your question, those look to be around 2 weeks away. You should start seeing more and more fading in the coming weeks, and plumper flowers as well!

Nice looking plants. 2 weeks minimum, honestly I'd think you were 4 weeks out. Don't cut yourself short.

They sure turned out nice with only 400w, what nutes were used? When you harvest, post a few pics and a weigh-In, if you will!

Don't harvest based on weeks, harvest based on trichomes.

Invest in a magnifying glass capable of clearly showing the trichomes.

Clear = Little to no THC developed
Cloudy = Pure THC
Amber = THC breaking down into CBD (bad)

You want to harvest when you have as much cloudy trichomes at possible. Keep in mind that the plant will continue to develop trichomes for some time even after it is cut (mostly negligible amount).

Peak harvest will generally be around 85% cloudy, 10% clear, 5% amber trichomes.

If you want maximum potency out of your bud, ignore weeks, let her tell you when she's ready.

Hey thanx. I grew in coco using Botanicare CNS17 grow, bloom and ripe. I also used a Lumatek bulb and not just a standard 400w. I will posy more pics soon.

I was gonna say at least 4 weeks. Hard to tell without close up bud shots. Big old bushes though, nice one.

Equally compelling science that says thc is at it's peak in clear trichomes.

I personally doubt that, but it's there without question in all cases. If the trichs have heads on them they will have thc in - I truly believe that. :peace:

I've never heard that. As I understand it, all of the THC in a Cannabis plant originates in the trichomes. The trichomes are just resin glands that create and release cannabinoids. THC (and, presumably, other cannabinoids) isn't created until phenols (contained within the trichomes) combine with terpenes (also within, not sure if that's spelled correctly) near the tip of trichomes, where it secretes it in resin. Considering the trichomes are clear when they form, and over time can be observed turning murky, then amber, wouldn't make any sense to me that they'd be at peak potency during infancy when they haven't had time to create cannabinoids in the first place. (Even though I've used the terms almost interchangeably, should be noted that many different cannabinoids are presumed to be created in the trichomes, not just THC). Trichomes have been studied pretty intently, and everything I've read from studies says clear = undeveloped precursor cannabinoids, murky = peak activated THC, and amber = THC degrading into CBD.

That's just the information I have from my experience and research. I've been proven wrong before and I doubt it was the last time.

Take everything with a grain of salt and double-check any information you receive from anybody before doing anything to your crops IMO!

The majority of the leaves will most likely turn yellow and shed and you will be left just pretty much just looking at bud.

The plant kinda tells you, the plant thinks it's autumn and it's about to perish so it gives you it's gift and then dies.

Well put. And that's another good point, within your (usually) last 2 weeks of flowering, all the lower fan leaves should be yellowing and falling off as the plant pulls the remaining Nitrogen out of them.
