Yeah fair enough .. thats the production farmer in me I suppose but it does loosen and mix sub soils and topsoils pretty efficiently I always feel sorry for the worms as im out power harrowing or hoeing but Im also big on soil prep for my plants .. the bigger the hole the better the plant not just how deep but also the circumference of the hole ... back home me and me old mate have holes we have been working on for close to 10 years digging em out further each time and filling with seaweed and other compostsThe absolute worse thing you can do to soil is use a rotary hoe on it

We just put the ripper through the paddocks on a couple of properties we planted rye in but they won’t get tilled for at least 3 years now hopefully. People are starting to catch on to how destructive overfilling soils has been to their farms for relatively small financial gains,humus is any farmers number 1 asset and tilling along with applying Nitrogen fertilisers without adding a carbon source are 2 of the biggest factors in the loss of 90% of humus in our soils
