I guess I'd best chip in about Bunnings coco and fungus gnats etc now :)

Best thing for gnats is this – completely organic: https://www.hydroexperts.com.au/CX-Horticulture-Tanlin-Drops-20ML

Kills the larvae that eat the roots – flying gnats do no damage to plants.

I used the compressed coco bricks for a long time, but it was always a PIA to flush them in warm water first. These days, Hygen coco is something like $20 a bag (if you can find a cheap hydro store) and I actually prefer it to Canna, as it is pre-flushed and pre-charged with Cal-Mag and is not as coarse as Canna – it has a nice consistency.

I haven't tried the Bunnings coco bags yet, but I also used similar no-name coco bags for a long time and had good results. It's hard to go wrong in coco, but to me $20 is cheap for a name-brand coco, so that's what I use now. At least you know it's been properly flushed before-hand (though run-to-waste will help flush out excess salts, though not all).

Hey guys, this will be my last ever spam post – I promise! :D

Long story short, a small company has been formed to sell High Lights, heatsinks and drivers etc. I don't have anything to do with the company. I helped design and test the boards and I guess you could say I'm a behind-the-scenes consultant. But everything from now on will be handled by the company so that I can go back to being a normal member.

The new company is "Grow Lights Australia" and there is another member here now under that name who is a sponsor (sponsorship details are currently being worked out I believe).

I don't want to pre-empt the sponsorship arrangement – there will be an announcement in the next couple of days – but there is now a website at www.growlightsaustralia.com that has prices and info.

What I do know is that RIU members will be offered a 10% discount on all purchases. This will offset GST for Aussie buyers and postage for overseas buyers (who pay no GST).

These are exactly the same boards and heatsinks etc manufactured here in Australia by the same guys. The only difference is I've always had a presence on RIU and they haven't. They're now going to take a more active role so I can get back to being just plain old me :bigjoint:

A few friends and I have been using these boards for over a year now, and they haven't missed a beat. There are a couple of threads already (below).

Thanks everyone for all the interest. These boards did not start out as a business venture – we just made them for our own use and over the past 12 months we've been getting more and more enquiries, so one of the guys decided it would be a good idea to make more boards and start offering them. Hence the new business.

Cheers.

Mobile site is a bit sticky but pretty good once your viewing the products. Any idea how we grab that rollitup discount? I’ll definitely be making an order before Christmas

Also I'm not saying these are better than building your own boards (not that I even know how to), but these are top of the range true broad-spectrum LED lights. I wish I had 'em.
